Best Z790 motherboard I've used to date
I hadn't planned on getting another Z790 motherboard but as luck would have it my msi meg z790 ace started randomly rebooting. I tried an asus first but it wouldn't see my memory correctly so I decided to try this board.Turns out this one has excellent behavior, sees my ram correctly and is super stable. I have it paired with a 14900k and its component temperatures are very low compared to the other two boards I used. If you need a z790 motherboard be sure to get a gen 2 board with the revised z790 chipset.Next time I build a new system I will choose Gigabyte first.

An amazing quality board with great features!
If you're using a 14900k and want a refreshed LGA 1700 board, this is the one to get. I went through issues with the ASUS Dark Hero and the ASRock Phantom Gaming Nova. I had one Dark Hero arrive with a crack in one of the DIMM slots and the other with a failing audio chip. The ASRock Nova was dead on arrival, so I decided to give GIGABYTE a chance, and I'm beyond happy I did. The motherboard is gorgeous and built like a tank. It has excellent functionality, especially for my needs. The bios has been drastically improved and is extremely easy to navigate, which is a vast improvement from what I remember. I have no issues other people have reported on, like coil whine or the motherboard not recognizing all the available RAM. The QC on mine is flawless. There's not one complaint on my end. It's running my 8000mhz 48 GB RAM kit at 7600mhz using an XMP profile with minor voltage changes with no errors on MemTest, and I'm using the Instant 6HZ feature to automatically OC my CPU. I'm using a thermal grizzly contact frame and a kryosheet. I couldn't be happier with the performance of this motherboard. I will now consider GIGABYTE boards in the future, given that they have won me over with the Master X.

Bent CPU Socket Pins
Looks to be a really nice motherboard and I was excited to get my new PC built and put the system through its paces. Unfortunately, I never even got to install the CPU because I received a board with bent pins on the CPU socket. I should have checked the motherboard before I started my build, but I was so excited to get my new PC built that I didn't open the motherboard until I was ready to install the CPU and put the motherboard into the case, only to find the socket has bent pins.I mean come on Gigabyte, a $550 motherboard should not be making it out the door with something as obvious as bent pins on the CPU socket. Thats a lack of quality control or employees not doing their job and it needs to be remedied. Im usually not upset about defects as I understand this stuff is man made and it happens, but a 550 dollar motherboard with something as obvious as bent cpu socket pins should not be making it out the door to customers hands. Thats infuriating.Im returning this one for a refund and have placed an order for the same motherboard in the meantime. Once I receive it and get it installed, I will update this review accordingly.

Wow 👌
I love this motherboard. I bought it used for $255 on Amazon. One note is, I did have to order two boards because the first one wouldn't power on.I upgraded from my Asus Rog Maximus Formula 12 paired with my 10850k Intel cpu to the Master X paired with a 13900k. I couldn't be happier. 5 nvme slots, a gpu ejection button, a power button on the motherboard so you don't have to use a screw driver on the 2 power on pins, and plenty of room for pcie expansion. My 4090 graphics card in my previous build took up 2 pcie slots which sucked because I had to stop using one of my expansion slots. One other note about this board is there are 3 versions. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2. It's labeled on the left corner of the board. You'll need this to update the bios correctly. Aside from that, I'm in love.

Outstanding Performance and Build Quality
This motherboard worked great out of the box and had no hardware issues. A BIOS update was required for full compatibility with my CPU, but the built-in Q-Flash Plus feature made the process quick and easy.Assembly was straightforward. The layout made it easy to install the CPU, GPU, and NVMe drives, and the tool-less M.2 slots were a nice touch. Everything about the board feels premium and well thought out. VRMs and cooling are more than capable under load.If you're building a next-gen system, this board checks all the boxes. Gigabyte delivered a strong, feature-rich platform.Highly Recommended.

Third times the charm
I was looking for a switch from A"sus" products so I went ahead and tried Gigabyte after using a different board in my nephews computer build. I pick up this z790 master x and swapped out my z690 maximus hero. Worked great for a few weeks then started having internet drop out issues and stability problems did all the troubleshooting and sent it back to Amazon, 2-3 weeks later get refund order new board and this board was anything from new, the entire product was used so horribly bad thermal paste everywhere even had bent pins so again.. sent it back..... Ordered a third board and I could already tell this was an actually new product did quick install and everything working right. So TLDR it took 3 tries before I got a working one from Amazon.Amazons QC needs some work if there was a spot to rate that then I would lol.Overall board is great!

Nearly perfect
i9-14900K, RTX4090, 96GB 6800MT/s RAMUsed Q-Flash+ to pre-update BIOS to F5G from GB site.Absolutely no problems.Best points: 10 GB LAN. Wi-Fi 7, tons of rear USB, power delivery, many nvme, ez latch thingy for GPU slot, and from my personal experience I’m expecting Gigabyte longevity ( six builds over 12 years not a single hardware issue), fantastic benchmarks and real-world performance .Negatives: Gigabyte Windows utilities remain sub-par, 5v power on a USB port (eg from a hub) prevents startup from power-off (not restart or power on from a power-on shutdown) - my Z390 Master had the same issue. I replaced the ILM with a coolright clamp and wish the backplate was attached to the board (easily fixed with tape). In summary, I don’t think there’s a realistically better LGA1700 board.
