I use the more common 1/4” compressed air connectors for all of my primary use connections between main line air piping, air hoses, and air tools. But I choose these 3/8” connectors between my compressor, air tanks, air piping, and air hose reels. Plus I do have one larger diameter extra long air hose where I use these larger connectors. These are rated as being capable of delivering 70% more air through these connections than the smaller 1/4” connectors.To describe my usage more succinctly: I utilize larger diameter 3/4” pipes, 1/2” hoses, and 3/8” connectors for the initial longer air lines, and then switch to 3/8” hoses and 1/4” connectors for the final connections. Plus I do have a couple shorter, lighter 1/4” hoses for use on my paint guns, smaller air tools, and air nozzles.This assortment includes both male and female air connectors and each of those primary types are supplied with both male and female threaded pipe/hose connections. So there is a selection of all possible combinations. And a roll of Teflon tape is included to help prevent air leaks where the threaded ends are connected to your existing hoses, etc.These steel air fittings are only used in dry environments where potential rusting is less of an issue. And it should be noted that these are not the “quick connect” type of female air hose connectors; to be connected their outer sleeve must be manually pushed back to allow the male component to be successfully inserted and secured.

These are good quality connectors similar to the ones I normally get; however, I should have looked at my connectors as they are 1/4" not 3/8". I will need a 3/8-inch hose. The problem then will be delivering that volume of air.
