Overall, great unit.
This is a great unit. Especially for the price. Touch screen works great. This unit is clear and not all pixelated like some units. I will say CarPlay is off a little on color compared to factory units. Going back and forth between this and my wife’s car is a little weird. It was also easy to install. I bought this specifically for the wireless CarPlay. Streaming CarPlay is also good. I have had connectivity issues a couple times, but my wife’s car does the same with the factory unit. I did add a backup camera wired into this unit. Works great. Manufacturer is super responsive getting issues fixed. I reached out because I wanted to put my own picture in for startup and they helped me with this. Overall this is a great unit and I would buy it again.

Totally shocked at the quality of the device and service
I installed this unit on a 2016 Honda CR-V without navigation (note, you'll need to buy a wiring harness and dash trim kit but that would be true of the most expensive head unit on the market). The process was as easy as possible and the instructions were clear. I had previously upgraded my stock speakers but the settings on the factory head unit still made them sound terrible. This was my first head unit install in years so I was pretty much starting from scratch. The whole thing took about 30 minutes once I had the harness wired up. Once I installed the unit, I adjusted the EQ (which was impossible in the stock unit) and the speakers came alive. I never write reviews but as long as this thing lasts a few years, I will consider this an excellent purchase. Pros: - Exceptional value (assuming it lasts for at least a few years): This unit performs exactly as expected. I was worried about screen lag and limited functionality but I'm shocked at its features for the price. It feels very light compared to some electronics I've used in the past but I'm not totally sure that's a strong indicator of quality. - Screen responsiveness: This was a major concern of mine. I assumed that the screen would be pretty terrible given the price but I was willing to accept that as a tradeoff for a non-name-brand unit. I was pleasantly surprised that my device is incredibly responsive. I don't notice any lag whatsoever once things are all loaded up. - Customizability/Software updates: Once you get the unit and provide proof of purchase, customer service provides free software updates and custom car logos so your launch screen has a more factory-feel. - Sound: The ability to control the EQ frequencies is a game-changer for my vehicle. The stock head unit and speakers sounded terrible. After a cheap speaker upgrade, it still sounded awful. Worse, actually. Once I installed this new head unit, I was able to deliver the right frequencies to the speakers to get way better sound out of them. - Wireless Carplay: I synced my phone and had carplay running in minutes. I had never used carplay before and thought it would be kinda worthless because I can just use my phone in "car mode". I was seriously wrong. Carplay alone is worth the upgrade to this system. - Customer service: So far, their customer service has been very responsive via email. Sending me software updates and new screen savers - Physical buttons/knobs: One of the main reasons I ended up with this particular unit was because I like the volume knob. I think about trying to operate a touch screen in the winter with gloves on or quickly turn down the volume because a kid is yammering at me from the back seat…I don't want to have to use a touch screen for that personally. Cons - iPhone screen mirroring: I have yet to figure out a way for me to mirror my iPhone. It's not something I intend to use often but it would be nice to have.

*** Great Head Unit is for DIYers ***
Overall: 4 stars 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer (CP9A) Why is it for DIYers? This is a great entry level head unit. As you've read from other reviews there are some troubleshooting that you'll need to fix from time to time and if you are somebody who just wants to pay somebody to install this and do not like, want or cannot figure things out please look somewhere else. If you are a DYIer like myself this is not an issue. Pro's: - Feature to price. This thing has a lot features that you'll only see above the $500 range from other name brand companies. - Installation is straight forward. I do not understand on what other reviewers are saying that they had to make their own diagram to connect the unit? Just like any other head units it's a lot easier to purchase a harness and mounting frame that matches the make and model of your vehicle just like any other aftermarket head unit. Also, there is a diagram on the instructions and you can youtube or google anything nowadays. Furthermore, yes you do need tools to install or fix things. - Manual Control Knob. Touch screen is ok, but manual controls are still my preferences. - Carplay and Android Auto works great with no issues. Con's: - This thing is picky with which USB it wants to work with. I've reached out to support because some MP4/WMV files will play and some will not. I received a response that if the file is too big it won't play. The issue that I get is some movies as big as 5 GB's will play with no issues and some videos with 20 MB's will have the file not supported issue or I would get the spinning loading screen... - This is random and my biggest complaint as this is the reason for the purchase to have a dedicated music/video/movie player without requiring a phone or internet. *** Update *** I was able to reduce the issue by using a smaller 32 GB USB/SD card, I think 256 GB of music/videos/ movies takes too long for the unit read. - Dedicated DSP. I have aftermarket 4 channel speakers and I've read a lot of reviews that this thing is loud, but I do not have this. Rather, it doesn't' have the same bass punch as the 12 years old Carrozzeria unit that I replaced it with. I'm glad I have a dedicated powered subwoofer to push the bass in my car, I may install an amp to push the other speakers in the future. I would like to have: - Two features cannot work the same time. For example, you cannot play music from USB/SD card while you are using maps from Car Play/Android Auto. - There is no website support to update the unit and/or change boot logo without emailing the support team. I would rather have the option of downloading the update file and have the option of changing the boot log/ wallpaper without waiting up to 24 hours. - UI response is not instantaneous or snappy. But, has a slight delay. Does not bother me, but something to point out. - The website states the dashcam supports up to 32GB of sd card, but nothing states max capacity for the actual head unit. I reached out to support and their response is 64GB. I have yet to confirm this and will update once I do. - I would like for the dash cam and back up camera to be at least 1440P. But, not a deal breaker.

Great value and better than expected.
I agree with many of the positive reviews: great sound quality, straightforward installation, and solid features. Installed on a 2014 Toyota Corolla. Manual: The manual is very clear and well-designed. They didn’t try to cram everything into fewer pages, and I appreciate the multiple QR codes that link directly to help videos. It’s nice to see a company put real effort into documentation. Setup & Interface: I appreciate a setup menu that’s clean and easy to read without feeling cluttered. Everything is well-labeled and intuitive. Use & Performance: So far, everything works great. Android Auto connects via Bluetooth (no USB cable required), which is a big improvement over my old system. Even though I programmed the steering wheel controls for volume, I still prefer using the knob. Although it is very subjective, for me, it has more volume than I need. The equalizer has more bands than I expected, and the screen is bright and clear. I haven’t had to adjust the default brightness, even in full sunlight. For the phone connection I've been told the built in microphone "works fine" which means I didn't have to run a microphone like I've seen was needed on some other radios. Why 5 Stars Instead of 4: Value: For the price, it performs better than expected in several areas. Clear Instructions: After seeing so many bad manuals, I really appreciate one that’s thoughtful and easy to follow. Customer Service: I reached out with a question about firmware updates and received a quick, helpful response. Notes & Tips: The system lets you adjust the rear camera alignment lines. In my setup, they could be shifted just a little, but it’s great that adjustment is even an option. If you’re using Android Auto, the default on-screen navigation/menu buttons appear vertically along the left side (next to the physical buttons). You can change them to a horizontal bar across the bottom, which I found easier to use.

Better than Sony CarPlay for 1/10th of the price!!
This unit was very easy to install when paired with the correct “Metra” harness for my vehicle. After messaging their tech support, the seller responded with the most recent update, which also contained the custom boot-logos and wallpapers I sent them. This tech support took less than 24 hours from the time I emailed to the time they sent me the firmware update! I was able to get the update installed within 5 minutes, and the boot-logo and wallpapers work perfectly! I previously had a “podofo” brand unit in my old vehicle, and this “Sjoybring” unit is FAR superior! My phone instantly connects, and the wireless CarPlay is streaming music and maps before my vehicle is fully turned on! This unit does not drop CarPlay or Bluetooth connection, or freeze like the “podofo” I had previously! I’m very satisfied with this unit, and the customer service! This unit is actually better than the “Sony” brand CarPlay unit I had a few years ago, for 1/10th of the price! I have installed at least 10 different wireless CarPlay units from several different name-brand manufacturers (Sony, Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer), and this one is more responsive than some of the $800-$1000 devices I have used! I would HIGHLY recommend this unit, especially with the well-made volume knob and physical skip/reverse buttons! Sound quality is better than factory stereo through the factory harness, and has plenty enough power to drive speakers on its own. I did test the pre-amp RCA connections with a spare 4 channel amp, and the sound quality is on-par with expensive brand name units. Sometimes these non-brand-name products hit their mark perfectly! Don’t overpay for a brand-name unit!

Works great
I have to say I'm very impressed with this unit, especially for the price. I had previously purchased the joy d008 back in 2022. At that time wireless Android auto was not available even on the new car market. Although the screen mirroring worked and did what I needed it to do, I felt like it was time to upgrade. So I bought this new unit and I couldn't be happier. The install was super simple because I was upgrading from a previous Sjoybring unit, I didn't have to do any rewiring, all the plugs were exactly the same. The main reason I bought it was for the Android auto and that works better than expected. It connects automatically as soon as I start the car and very quickly. The touch screen is very responsive, and the sound quality is great. I do have aftermarket speakers so that may have something to do with it. If I had only one complaint, it's that when playing music on Android Auto with either Spotify, or Pandora, etc. the sound volume is not nearly as loud as when playing the radio. I can turn it up as far as it will go and it doesn't blow me out of the car. But that being said, with it turned all the way up, there's zero distortion. The quality of the camera is also very good, I used the same camera that I had installed with the previous unit. One funny thing with that is that the camera video gets a little staticy but after watching it I realize that it was in time with the music. There's a setting that allows you to mute the music while reversing and that makes the picture crystal clear. The other thing I liked was that I was able to contact the company after install and they sent me a file with a custom logo and upgraded firmware so I have all the latest stuff. Once again, All in all I am very impressed with this unit.

Authentic song skipping
Are you looking for a classic feel of cd skipping like an old school walkman trying to play that beat Linkin Park CD? Then this is the radio for you. Skips songs on anything you play at random. Perfect authentic experience. But it's a cheap radio so you get what you pay for.

Good for the money.
So far, there are no major issues with this radio. This was installed into a 2000 pick up truck. The dash bezel had to be modified and a trim ring had to be added to the dash basil to clean up the look. These parts were available from others. Sometimes it is a little glitchy. When the forward facing camera comes on when first starting the vehicle it will stay on. The camera will display on the radio screen and the radio will not play. This only seemed to happen when it was very cold outside. You will have to turn off the vehicle so that the radio will turn off to reset it. Then it would work like the radio should. The back up camera is clear on the screen and works very well. I have a manual transmission so I tapped into the back up lights to power the back up camera. The truck is also an extra cab and the cord from the camera to the radio was long enough to reach. Once the camera was mounted the lines that showed up on the screen like most cars could then be adjusted according to where it was mounted. These adjustments would allow you to back up to something very close and then set the angles in the distances of the lines on the screen to give you a much better indication of how close you were to something. The only thing that I might have changed would be to put a license plate mounted camera rather than this style camera as I did not have a good place to mount it so I just screwed it to the middle of my license plate. This has not caused any problems other than aesthetics. The nice thing about putting it in the middle of my license plate is when I’m backing into my trailer to hook up. I can watch it in the back up camera. For the money this was a decent purchase. I would definitely buy another one if I had to. In case you haven’t looked, the average cost for a shall we say high end radio with a back up camera and a forward facing camera combination kit would cost for my vehicle roughly $500.00 to $800.00. Due to the fact that my biggest goal is to be able to connect my phone into my radio, so I could play my music and be able to use the map feature on my phone this was a good choice. The only thing I would’ve added would have been to add the external mic. When you’re driving down the road in a higher speed and this vehicle is not the quietest to drive the external mic would’ve helped when talking on the phone. It seams to do fine when at low speeds but it picks up the background noise at higher speeds.
