Symbolising the hopes of the Allied nations, the courageous crew of 617 Squadron and their mighty Avro Lancaster Aircraft were led by Wing Commander Guy Gibson as they soared into military history as the Dambusters. These men and the raid will be remembered for the 'Upkeep' mine that breached the Möhne Dam, dropped from Flt. Lt. David Maltby's Lancaster Aircraft. The working mechanism of the timepiece is exposed, whilst the blue-toned face is adorned with a rose gold-plated Lancaster design. This timepiece is etched on the reverse with a tribute to this WWII aircraft and a depiction of the Lancaster alongside the bouncing bomb.
