W&N umbers are excellent value, and true to standard.
I never buy up-market earth-tones. The pigment is literally dirt, so any extenders would cost more than the pigment. Highly saturated. Absolutely consistent density, pigment saturation and chroma. Has the slightest translucency so a work horse for underpainting, impasto or tempering glazes.Remember - “buttery” just means extra oil, less pigment and a premium price - you can always add a bit of oil if you like butter!Happy painting.

Fantastic quality and color.
Love Windsor and newton. These tubes will last you years, the color and saturation is great. I think this one is student grade not professional grade, but the quality is artist grade. I haven’t found anything better at this price.Good value, this color specifically will get less use than ryb or mcy colors but even my white has lasted around 2 years now with consistent painting.

great product
As an oil painter, I'm always on the lookout for high-quality paints that don't break the bank. Winsor & Newton's Winton Oil Colors have become my go-to for that exact reason. Specifically, I'm in love with their Permanent Alizarin Crimson. This color is just gorgeous. It's a rich, deep, and vibrant crimson that mixes beautifully with other colors. It's perfect for creating deep shadows, adding warmth to landscapes, or even mixing into vibrant reds for floral paintings. The pigment load is excellent, so you don't need to use a ton of paint to get a strong, saturated color. What I really appreciate about the Winton line is the consistency. The paint comes out of the tube with a nice, smooth, buttery texture that's easy to work with. It blends seamlessly and doesn't feel too oily or sticky. It's a joy to use. While the Artist's grade paints are definitely a step up, for the price, the Winton line offers exceptional value. They're perfect for students, hobbyists, or even professional artists who are looking for a more affordable option for everyday painting. I use a mix of Artist's and Winton colors, and honestly, sometimes I can't even tell the difference! If you're looking for a reliable, high-quality Alizarin Crimson (or any oil paint, for that matter), I highly recommend giving Winsor & Newton's Winton Oil Colors a try. You won't be disappointed. This Permanent Alizarin Crimson has become a staple in my palette.

Good Basic Oil Paint
I bought these in primary colors and set about learning how to mix the rest of my colors from them. At this price it's affordable to learn how to mix, even when a beginner knows they're going to make some errors (but it's still all usable, of course). Occasionally I'll use some reduction medium when I need a bit more flow, but straight out of the tube, you can really build up texture as needed. Surprisingly powerful and rich pigments. I chose Cadmium Red, Lemon Yellow, French Ultramarine Blue and Titanium White. For under $100 (at that time) I got enough oils to last for months, even though I paint almost daily on large canvases.

Amazing Oil Paint
Arrived in perfect condition, smells as an oil paint should smell, spreads and covers the canvas nicely when using linseed oil, and sticks great to the canvas. Just make sure to let oil paint dry properly before touching or it'll smudge. The quality is very good and blends with other oil paints without any issue. The color is exactly what it should be.

These are student grade
Inexpensive and all-right quality, but can spit out oil and do not apply particularly well.

Great price, paints on smooth
This yellow ochre oil paint is great. You get a generous 200 ml tube at a great price. It paints on super smooth, and the color is incredibly vibrant, making it absolutely perfect for my landscapes. Highly recommend!

Stunning Color and Quality
Winsor & Newton continues to impress as one of the top names in oil paints. The texture is smooth and consistent, and the richness of this Dioxazine Blue is absolutely breathtaking. The depth and vibrancy of the color bring so much life to a piece—it’s quickly become one of my new favorite shades to work with. Highly recommend for any serious painter!
