Good study in a good learning format for me
This is a study guide that you can use in a group setting or in a private study and to be used along with the 5-part video series on Study Gateway. I find this method of learning very good for me. I like to watch and listen to the speaker/author on video and go through the study guides. I use the study guide in my personal study. While this study on prayer covers many familiar verses and themes, the author provides many thought-provoking comments and questions. Even if I have considered some of these ideas previously, it is always helpful to re-examine them. The author, Tyler Staton, has good insights and writes well. I do find his speaking timing takes me a while to get used to. Sometimes he speaks quickly over some visual word pictures instead of giving me a chance to picture them in my mind.Don't expect much visually from the video. It is meant to be minimal, presenting only the speaker and a plain set. This minimalist aspect may have missed an opportunity for a more visual presentation, but I guess that is the point.Overall, this is an excellent study, and I appreciate the Study Gateway format of the study guide with video. It suits my learning style.

Video access is a bonus!
This was a wonderful short study on prayer and delving into a more involved prayer life. The video access being included was a great bonus! This allows you to do the study on your own, or to view the videos on your own if you miss a session with your Bible study group.

Nice Study on Prayer; The Full Book is Also Good
This guide is good. I wouldn't say it's amazing but I did enjoy going through the videos. I listened to most of the original book a while ago and I enjoyed that book more than these videos and study guide. I'd recommend it all though. The study guide is structured for a group setting with three personal study sections for each session. It is well written and guided. There is even a "leader's guide" section to help facilitators guide a group. I like the expected times for different sections. The videos were fine. The visual aspect of the videos weren't used to their potential. It's just the author siting in front of a white backdrop and occasional scripture being overlayed on the video. The audio is great. The author has an inviting voice and is very personal. He is not afraid to be vulnerable with his stories and that part is good from the videos. There are five sessions. The first serves as an introduction as well as discussing Jesus' intercessory work (and ours by extension). The last four sessions follow a common format of adoration, confession, petition, and intersession.I'd recommend this guide. There are good lessons that help reframe our relationship with prayer.

Transforming book
I never leave reviews, but this book begs for one. It's quite possibly the best book Ive ever read on prayer! He addresses the hard questions we've all thought about prayer and our relationship with our Heavenly father. It has changed my relationship with Jesus and healed me in so many ways! Thank you Tyler for being the vessel God needed to bring this transforming book to life!!

Nothing special
I went through this and didn't find anything that was really insightful or formatted in something that hasn't been packaged like this before. There's nothing heretical or wrong here it was just very middle of the road. Maybe if you haven't done a prayer study before this is a good intro.
