Tandy Leather Factory Rivet Setter Plus Anvil Set

The rivets in the photo are stainless steel, with 9 mm diameter heads. Nickel plated brass rivets might behave differently. For comparison, the rivet on the right was set with the setting tools, and the rivet on the left was hit with a hammer on a flat metal anvil. Pros: low price, effective. Cons: finish on the setting faces of the setting tool and anvil are not very polished, so it could possibly mar some rivets. The faces of the setting tool and anvil are concave, but not very much, so a flat-ish spot was still left on the rivet (though not nearly as much as just hitting the rivet with a hammer) Overall, this is a cheap and effective option for setting small rivets. The finished rivet looks decent.

Works as it should

This rivet setter and anvil set is fantastic for leathercraft! The tools feel solid and well‑made, and they make setting rivets quick and easy. Even as a beginner, I was able to get clean, professional results without much effort. The set includes everything I needed to start working on belts, bags, and other leather projects, and the quality is definitely worth the price. A great addition to any leatherworker’s toolkit — highly recommend!

these are useful when working towards the center of your project or when using small (short) rivets, but i would recommend getting a rivet gun (pliers) or using screw rivets when working towards the edge of your material, as hand-pounded rivets tend to fall off when stress is put on them.

This makes adding rivets to leather easy. I like that it has enough length to protect fingers while hammering rivets closed. It works great for me.
