I used this in a mining job ten years ago in construction equipment- dozers, graders, loaders, and other equipment as a way to power two way radio equipment from 24vdc. It was small enough to fit in compact out of the way places and run a ten to twenty watt transmitter for communications (Motorola dash mount radio). I rated this at 4 as there was an issue easily remedied to make the device excellent with 5 stars. The unit was subject to vibration and would eventually rattle apart. By opening the case ( the bottom cover came off with four screws) and liberally filling the compartment with RTV to shock mount the components the supply seemed to hold together indefinitely. (Anything with mass or size was given a squeeze of RTV.)Yes, I did reattach the bottom cover, and yes this likely voids the warranty. By making this comparatively impervious to shaking apart from vehicle vibration the fail rate dropped significantly in the road construction equipment.
