Can i place it Different disks also, not just cubes?

No just cubes, I sent it back as it was a mess about & the operation was not efficient enough. I bought a mincer & it is really good.

Does the kenwood kax400pl grate and slice as well as cube?

No you need the continuous slicer for that. I got both and both are good. The dicer is a godsend. The only downside, if you want to call it that, is if you're doing a lot it can get blocked in the square blades so you have to use the special tool to clean it. But really not a problem. But no it doesn't slice.
