Good Deal on Hard to find Compass Leads
I was so glad to see that Amazon carried compass leads as it is very hard to locate a local retailer that carries them. These are nice leads. I am using them for an art class and they work well. Also, they came right away, were a great price and should last me a long time. Very nice!

What I needed
These leads are just what I needed. There's really not much more to say about them. They're perfect. They do the job I need them to do. They're priced right.

Fits my Weems & Plath Compass
Leads vary in length by about +/- 1/8". Each is about 3/4" long and they are all enclosed in a small container (hard to see in the product picture). I am using them in my Weems & Plath compass and they are just long enough - I wouldn't use anything shorter. The W&P will accommodate up to 1-1/4" length lead or so. This 2mm diameter fits nicely into the compass's grip. Marks well in concert with my 0.5mm drafting pencil. To get 5 starts, it would need to be 1" in length.

Just What My Compass Needed
I was limping along on the remains of the lead that came with my compass. I could not find these large leads at the local stores. Now I have plenty of leads at a good price. Thank you Amazon.
