I had to have this replaced as the first one I received the end of the box was smashed as if dropped from a considerable height or bashed head on against something solid. The second rod segment from the top was very difficult to pull out or push in. Whether this was from damage or came from the factory like that I don't know. The segments on the replacement all push in or pull out with about the same amount of force.This tripod/light stand is everything as advertised except it does not have a 360 degree ball head. The stand head tilts only 90 degrees in two directions (180 degrees total). There is no ball head. This is obvious from the photos.Pros: very compact when closed up. Extends to over 70 inches. Sturdy construction. Rotating knob for the 1/4-20 screw - you don't have to spin your gear or the entire stand to mount your gear. Can be used as a light stand, camera tripod, selfie-stick/extension rod.cons: rather heavy when using as a selfie-stick or extension rod putting strain on my wrists - may not be a problem with stronger wrists. Thread part on the legs is plastic and the threaded collar is aluminum - in my experience this combination in time leads to the plastic threads stripping - time will tell. When closed the legs clip together tightly and I find it difficult to unclip them - may loosen in time. The head is mainly plastic and you need to pull on the head to start extending the center posts - will the head break and come out of the center post?Despite these concerns I give this stand/tripod five stars for its overall design and functionality. It is mostly aluminum in construction and quite sturdy and stable with lower extension. After I add a panning ball head this will be prefect for my smaller camcorders.

I bought this on a great sale, but decided I didn't really need it before opening it, so I returned it. Right after that, I was in a situation where I regretting returning it as it would have been prefect. But it wasn't on sale again, so I wound up buying it again anyway.It's great for hand-holding a small on or off camera flash, and I love how short it is and how long it can go. I use it for lighting backgrounds, but I can also use it for location shooting when I mount a FlashPoint/Godox AD200 on it (off to one side or the other).I packs up small, is lightweight, easy to extend and lock, and sits solidly on the ground. So it saves me from one more light stand when I go out on a shoot.However, will not give you the confident holding power for a larger light (like an AD600) in any situation where it might be blown or knocked over, nor will it hold something with a softbox large than 12x12.

I use this for watch shows on my tablet while I’m running. Fits in bag for work trips and doubles as a camera holder for zoom meetings on the go. It’s a little bigger than I’d like, but that’s the price of having something that extends all the way out.

This seems like a solid tripod/selfie stick. It’s a little wobbly on carpet, and a bit heavy as a selfie stick. Honestly, heavy and sturdy as a selfie stick then light but flimsy. It’s definitely a solid tripod but the legs are very hard to open up. I can see why some have broken theirs. It takes some pressure to open the legs, which can lead to breakage.

This is useful as a light stand (as intended) and a tripod and monopod for a smallish cameras. It is heavy (ish), solidly built all aluminum with good knobs that tighten everything up.It can get pretty tall, but it becomes pretty flimsy at max hight with a larger camera than a point and shoot. The head is just a simple swivel/rocker type. I added a ball head and it works great.And it can be used as a club if your attacked by a bear. It's that durable and heavy. But as a, super sized selfie stick, heavy duty monopod, and useful tripod all in one this is a great tool to have in your kit. And it's at a good price for the quality.I recommend it.

Solid, sturdy and well-built, the Ulanzi MT-79 is a bit heavier than some other options at 1.2 pounds, but I trust it with my Osmo Pocket 3, even at full extension (nearly 7 feet). When folded, it measures just a little over 14 inches which means it can fit in most backpacks and small travel bags. It does not come with a cell-phone holder however, so if you're using your phone as a camera, look for a different option, or get a cellphone holder/adapter for the 1/4-inch threaded mount.For the money, sturdiness and portability, it's an excellent option.

This thing has been a fantastic addition to my few weeks set up. The length of this thing is incredible.

I do a lot of really simple vlogs (I’m an old man, what do you expect?) using a variety of cameras. I travel internationally quite a bit so weight is ALWAYS a major concern. This little Ulanzi tripod is awesome. I can use my DJI Osmo 3 or my Sony FX30 with a bigger lens and they both do well. I like the fact that for a compact camera this thing is pretty steady. This is the biggest of the Ulanzi tripods I have purchased and with the quality of this thing I am sure they will get my Amazon dollars yet again in the future. It’s not fancy but more than does what I need it to.

Muito bom, um dos melhores tripés que já tive para usar dentro de casa. Acredito que não tenha estabilidade suficiente para usar na rua, parece que se bater um vento ele cai, mas utilizo em cima da mesa e é ótimo.

Light weight yet strong and stable. The perfect light stand on the go

This has been an excellent product for capturing couple photos of just my wife and me. We always struggled to take pictures together, but now it’s so convenient. The build quality is solid, and it offers good stability—I even used this monopod in a small stream, and it remained stable. The only drawback is that it doesn’t come with a smartphone mount or a Bluetooth clicker, so you’ll need to purchase those separately.

These have become quite popular amongst videographers and photographers. I own two of them as a wedding videographer. They're so compact & so versatile you can take them anywhere. The go nice and tall if you need them and hold anything from a light, flash, Osmo Pocket or even a smaller camera. Everyone should have one of these in their kit.
