This scoop worked well for scooping ice.

I love the ice scoop! The 12oz is the perfect size for my ice Ben. The sticker would not come off easily, so plan B went into effect. I sprayed some WD-40 directly onto the sticker and let it soak through. It pilled off with no problem! I wiped off the residue with a paper towel. Then I washed it with hot soapy water. I learned this trick from working with stain glass.

I got this item to help me put salt in my pool, smaller than I thought but gets the job done.

We bought the scoop to provide a sanitary means of extracting ice from our freezer to glasses. The 12 oz scoop is perfect for that job. It will scoop up an ample amount of ice, and is narrow enough so that we can easily pour the ice directly into the glasses. We keep it in the freezer, alongside the icemaker, and the plastic doesn't freeze our hands as a metal scoop handle would. It seems sturdy enough for extended use, if used with reasonable care.

First, this is a solid top quality scoop. However, it's not very well suited for my purpose as an ice scoop. It's simply too flat. The handle and scoop are perfectly level. Therefore if you have any downward angle into the ice, the ice slides right out. You are forced to move the handle lower (into the ice) or push the ice against the sides of the container as you lift it out. I think it would be a lot better (for me) if it had about a 15 or 20-degree angle on the handle...think shovelhead.

I bought this scoop for the ice bin in the bottom freezer and it’s the right size. Good choice.
