So the torch puts out 1000 lumens for 9 hours? This is incredible, is it true?

In response to Glyn Mellings answer, the M7R is a completely different torch, over 12 years old. Its only 220 lumens, and 255 meters. According to the mt14 review on the ledlenser website and torchmagazine, it maintains its maximum brightness of 1000 lumens for 9hrs on one charge.

How does the safety switch work as in not turning it on on your pocket

The previous answers are misleading. The torch has a multifunction power switch. In addition to switching the torch on and off you can access a number of functions. To lock the torch in the OFF position you must press and hold the switch for 19 secs until the torch blinks 4 times in quick succession. The torch is now locked off. To unlock you must press and hold the switch for 5 secs until the torch blinks once. The torch now operates normally. I recommend that you download the user manual, which is available on the Amazon web page for the product. This will explain all the features of this remarkable torch.

Does this torch have a strobe function, if so does it work well?

Yes it does and it works well. Hold the power button down until you get three flashes. You will then have set a sequence of high/medium/low - hold the power button down during either of the three power levels and the strobe will start at the same high level until you release the power button, at which point the torch will immediately power off.
