Configurable, quality hardware, amazing night vision, motion detection, notifications, and more
I bought this product to monitor my remote property and notify me when there is any motion, day or night. So far it has not let me down. It did take some time getting familiar with the NVR software and configuration of motion detection and recording options. However, once I understood how the configuration items work, the NVR system provides plenty of options to get the behavior I wanted. I was able to schedule normal recording of video from the all the cameras separately from motion detection recording and notification. Now whenever there is motion detected, I receive a TXT message on my phone with a snapshot of the image where motion was detected. The motion video is also recorded on the NVR HDD.I'm quite impressed with the night vision quality and range that it covers. You can see from the attached images they are quite sharp even in the black of night where there absolutely no light anywhere.I initially setup with all of the cameras at home and made sure I could access the NVR remotely from the internet and the android app. It all worked as expected without any additional configuration with my DSL modem. The UPnP enabling worked without any extra work on my part. Then I took it up to my remote property that has a different internet service provider, and different DSL modem. This required some manual modifications to the firewall to enable port forwarding for the UDP, TCP, HTTP, RSTP, and SNMP ports to route them to the NVR. The UPnP enabling didn't work reliably, which prevented the DDNS registration with Amcrest DDNS. Once I got those all setup and forwarding correctly, I was able to see the NVR on my android app, and DDNS registration was successful with Amcrest.I chose the NVR POE system because I didn't want to run power to each of the locations I wanted to put a camera. I have access to my attic and was able to run the Ethernet cables from my NVR/media location up through the attic and out to each location I wanted to put a camera. As of this posting I have 2 cameras setup and working on mounting the other 2.This system did not have an HDD, but I have an old computer that has a SATA HDD that is 500GB that I took out and put in the NVR to save recordings. It is working perfectly as well.I spent several days looking through the NVR options and manufacturers, ultimately I choose Amcrest because of the customer ratings, configuration options, camera quality, and POE NVR options.

Really like Amcrest
This camera system is really nice. The system goes together very easily and powers right up with no issues. This is the second Amcrest camera system I have installed by far the easiest of all the cameras systems I have used in the past. This was the first power over ethernet system that I have put in and was excited to see how it would work. I have to say that it was plug and play at its finest. The cameras synced up just fine and have beautiful video quality. The system was easy to update to the latest firmware and it didn't take long to update; only a minute or two. The system connects to the internet very quickly with no issues at all which is a great relief. The software is very fast, intuitive, and easy to use. It may not be for the novice user at first glance but with a little reading and experimenting just about anyone can figure it out. Amcrest has a good selection of videos that may be of use as well. For those that have a strong technical background and experience with camera systems, this will be a breeze to manipulate. There are quite a few options in the software so there is something for every level of user to explore. This system is wonderful and I really have nothing bad to say about it. If I really had to give a criticism I suppose I could say that I wish the Cat5e cables that comes with the system were at least 100 foot instead of the 60 foot that is provided. You may have to make your own cable if the run is too long. But I digress. The system is top notch in my humble opinion. It does what it is suppose to do and does it well. That's all that I can ask for.

super easy set up and install
super easy set up and install, almost plug and play. Images are super sharp and IR is way better than expected. I have yet to access remotely but I'm sure like everything else it won't be too hard. Great quality system at a reasonable price. Now I just need 2 more cameras.

Amcrest 4 Megapixel camera review
Very good camera, clear picture, good night vision no problems. The only thing I would change are the adjusting screws-I prefer Allen head screws over the Phillips head.Other than that it is great camera.I would recommend it.

The quality is excellent and ease of install is unsurpassed
Tanya was very helpful with support. I was having an issue being able to view remotely on a PC. She got me all set up and the system is working flawlessly. I'm going to be purchasing more camera's in the near future. The quality is excellent and ease of install is unsurpassed. It's a one wire hook up, can't get much easier than that.
