Despite the lukewarm reviews of this product I've read elsewhere, it arrived in immaculate condition and this metronome is quite simply a delight.Meticulously constructed, it functions just as I had hoped.. The sound is perfect and it looks majestic on my six foot black German grand piano , I don't need a bell to remind me of timing, Thankfully this one comes without. The visual swing of the pendulum and the natural acoustics of a beautifully crafted wooden case make this item a 'must have', which surpasses any of the digital gadgets on the market. It 's easy to adjust and beautifully proportioned. Buy it .

The case may not be what you may expect if you are comparing it with the finished hard wood type on offer, A good high gloss finish although the wood underneath seems lower quality than you may expect , still a good product though and functionally excellent.

Wittner have been making mechanical metronomes since the end of the nineteenth century. This is a precision instrument that will last a lifetime and a stylish addition to any music room. It’s a world away from the electronic digital varieties, which of course have their place, but which cannot match the style and appeal of this beautiful machine. The metronome is loud enough to be of use to ensembles and the visual movement of the pendulum can also be a helpful aid to keeping time. Wonderful!

Absolutely perfect, I know it's pricier than digital/plastic alternatives but it looks and works great.

Good time keeping gift

The picture does not do this product justice. The colour and finish is black piano lacquer and will coordinate well with any black piano. Metronome has a nice loud tick and for my money is much better than any smartphone app. Just having this clicking away in the background when playing helps enormously in keeping on the beat and of course you've got visual as well as audible prompts with the swinging pendulum.

Such a disappointment. The 'high quality' finish was covered in hairline scratches akin to a CD that has been on the floor for a few years. Looks like a bargain if you pay £20 for it, but at over £110 (and an rrp of £199), this really doesn't cut it. Sent straight back for a refund.
