Works great, but expensive considering their useful life
I purchased a new cartridge from Amazon to replace one of the two in the photo. It's working great. However, the two in the photo show the corrosion that occurs over a 15 year period in an extremely soft water area (San Mateo County, CA, USA - hardness 32ppm), so expect to be replacing your cartridges more often.

Great replacement , nice hot water from cold
Perfect replacement relatively easy installation. I am a building contractor but specialize in carpentry, but this was fairly easy to replace. Made all the difference when we were getting mostly warm to tepid water. Nice and hot now, very happy. Glad I had my original paperwork from 2010 so I knew the exact model of thermostatic valve I needed. Pays to be a little anal about paperwork!

Easy to replace and works like new
I have a 22 year old Grohe shower that uses this mixing valve. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to remove the trim pieces (had to email photo to Grohe to ask what the model was). The replacement went well and it is nice to be able to adjust the water temperature again.

IDK if cheaper aftermarket brands would have worked as well. Didnt want to take a chance.

Genuine Grohe thermo jawn, perfect temperature control once more. We got twenty one years out of the original, let’s try another.

WAY too expensive for a wear item
LOW QUALITY, Apparently they go bad often. Maybe every 2-5 years. They are way too expensive for an already expensive valve assembly to need replaced often. I will never buy this type again as it is only slightly more time consuming to just set the temp by an old fashioned valve. That being said, I suffered with the old one for a year taking lukewarm showers and it sure feels nice to have a hot one again. The last month before I replaced it, I cheated to take a warmer shower by turning the water heater to the hottest setting and turning on the sink's cold water so there was far less cold water for the shower. PITA.
