Milescraft 1218 Dovetail Template Master - Woodworking Dovetail Jig Kit for Making Dovetail Router Templates with Router Bits

I was very hesitant to pay the price for this as a master "template" in which I would have to build my own, or pay 2 to 3 times more for a ready made dovetail jig plate. I vacillated, but decided to buy this template and make my own. I am glad I did buy this one. I made a double wide (approx 12 inches and a single wide one also. They work well and I still have a template if I need to make more. Following directions and total familiarity with ones own plunge router is a necessity. Quality plywood or material is a necessity also. Read the instructions and get familiar with the steps beforehand; get the correct router bit, be patient and do one finger at a time. Works Great!

Delivered promptly, despite current issues with Covid interruptions. Package seemed complete, template, bits and DVD. Disappointing that the DVD was only promotional for other products. Advertising blurb for tool suggested the DVD would have complete instructions and video for using the tool.

This jig works just great, cutting dovetails in no time and box joints too.I used it to make my jig out of a plastic cutting board, smooth and indestructible.Money well spent.Just follow the instructions very carefully and you can't go wrong with this one.

The device works well. I have used it to make the dovetail jigs and the box joint jig. It is easy to set up.

I bought a jig and found the bits to be quite poor. The screws that fasten the collar that holds the bearing in place loosened and fell out allowing the bearing to move which caused the bit to ruin the template. The lock screws are microscopic and even had they included a set key, which was NOT included, would have been extremely difficult to tighten because of it's small size. Buy it and try it but beware the bits. I called customer service and still await a reply. The various directions for using the jig don't agree and the dvd is nothing more than advertising for other products. Caveat emptor.

Reading the other reviews, this product is a perfect example of “your mileage may vary.” I tried to make a template with this, and it broke on the first try. While others sing its praise, mine is off to the dump. For me, this was an example of a product that claims easy, but it’s cheesy. (And, yes, I followed the instructions.)

Instructions aren’t as concise and thorough as they should be, tear out on the entry cut was significant regardless of the species of wood. Had to use thin hard board in front of the work piece to prevent it. Once you spend some time with this using good old trial and error the results are pretty good. The bits are much better than expected and the templates themselves, even though made from MDF, wear very well. All in all a good value but be prepared to spend some time with it. The video that came with the product was no use at all as it was advertising for other Milescraft products. There are YouTube videos that are helpful, though

Habe mir aus Siebdruckplatten mehere Vorlagen hergestellt (direkt auf die Holzbreite abgestimmt), funktioniert super. Kann ich wirklich empfehlen.

El artículo no es como el de la foto, el plástico aún trae rebabas y es menos estetico. En cuanto a uso no permite errores por que el plástico se lastima fácilmente.
