Works great, good suction and hooked it up to my crawlspace in case of a broken pipe.

I like having a utility pump available for property management; it's one of those versatile tools you don't know you need until you need it, like emptying a flooded culvert, or as a temporary sump pump. This Superior Pump has already been helpful and easy to use. Best practice and common sense dictate that you should have check valves on the discharge piping/hose you use, and a base for your pump to lift it off the surface to avoid the injection of rocks and such. Not to mention a proper extension cord if needed (and maybe even a GFCI extension cord for additional safety). Superior Pump does not include these items with this pump, and I know of no pump makers who provide them with the pump unless they include a kit with those items. This kit only has the Pump. With that said, I also appreciate the built-in float switch. The pump is made from high-quality plastic, and the fit and finish are on par with competitors at this price point. I appreciate the garden hose attachment at the end of the pump (the standard discharge is a 1-inch female pipe thread) and the 10-foot cord. The pump performs well; it's only 1/6 horsepower, with a 20-foot head at up to 20 GPM. So this won't drain a whole pool quickly, but for almost any other application, it works pretty quickly. Overall, this pump is competitively priced and has a one-year warranty. Superior Pump has a good web presence and, I assume, good support.

I have another, non-automatic superior pump that I use whenever I need to move water, for whatever reason/purpose. Sometimes, I want the ability to leave the pump somewhere and then have it automatically run if need be (mainly for random drainage situations that happen with house owning, gardening, etc). My previous superior pump has been working fine for some years now as a basic utility pump. So I got this one and am expecting it to be as durable and long lasting as the previous one. Work well for my application -- a utility/bar sink in a spot that I then use this to pump the waste water elsewhere -- and has the speed necessary for my application. I can't vouch that it is truly 1/6 HP but it does the job automatically. Super easy to use and gets the job done. If I'm using this to move water "up", I like to add a check valve and a AAV at the highest point in the line. Depends on how you plumb/lay the line. I'd recommend this pump easily.

This 1/6 HP automatic pump works exactly the way I needed it to. It draws from the bottom, which makes emptying a crock or pit super easy without leaving a bunch of standing water behind. For a small pump, it moves water really well and gets the job done fast. It’s all plastic, so I wouldn’t expect it to survive constant, heavy use, but that’s not what I bought it for. As a backup pump or occasional-use tool, it’s perfect. The hose attachment fits well and doesn’t leak, and the whole unit is simple and reliable.

Not the most powerful water pump that you're going to come across for the price. You can get something with better horsepower for a bit more, but that depends on your budget. If you're trying to save a few bucks and get something that functions sufficiently for basic needs like pumping water out of a crawlspace. Fairly easy to install, functional, decent durability, not hard to use. It really just boils down to how much power you'll need, but it will do in a pinch. Time will tell how long it will last, though.
