BRAVE Roasted Peas: Paprika & Chilli - Healthy Snack, High Protein, Low Calorie (12 x 35g Packs)

After reading the many reviews for these flavoured peas, I hesitated to give them a go, but I'm so glad I did. They are delicious and filling. I bought these via subscribe and save, which works out at about 85p per packet. The portion is a good size, and unlike many products out there, these are value for money. I will definitely buy more.

I bought the "salt and vinegar" flavour. I was hoping that these would be something like the delicious roasted green peas available from Hapi, which I've purchased before and are delicious but are extremely expensive. However these BRAVE peas really suffer in comparison: they're made from split peas rather than coated green peas and just don't seem to lend themselves to baking/roasting - rather than puffing up they harden into almost "pea gravel", meaning that they're quite dense and hard. I also found that the flavouring was a little lacking. It definitely tasted of salt and vinegar but not in a way that really reminded you of salt and vinegar crisps or salt and vinegar on chips, the balance just wasn't quite right and the flavour was a little "chemical" - I think because the ingredients used "spirit vinegar powder" rather than actual vinegar. The price isn't completely outrageous compared to other snacks, but I didn't really enjoy these and wouldn't buy them again - I'd rather pay through the nose for the Hapi green peas that are genuinely delicious.

These are quite spicy but not in a enjoyable way! High in calories to!

Since becoming intolerant to dairy I haven't been able to eat anything sour cream and chive flavour, for obvious reasons. But no more!These crunchy peas really pack the flavour that I have missed. Plus they are the perfect snack size. Will definitely be getting more

I bought the salt & vinegar and the paprika flavoured versions of this snack as I wanted something slightly healthier to replace potato crisps. These fit the bill with less carbohydrates (i.e. sugar) and more fibre and protein. They are really tasty and I am definitely going to keep buying this brand, but I do think it's a wee bit overpriced considering each pack works out at about £1 each and it's essentially just a handful of dried peas.
