This is a fine art print of 1 Corinthians 13, the most well-known Bible verse about love ("Love is patient . . . "). On my original artwork, I hand-lettered the calligraphy using white gouache ink on dyed red parchment in a traditional Renaissance style, with the words forming a heart shape. This is a beautiful wedding gift or anniversary gift! I use traditional medieval and Renaissance styles and motifs in my calligraphy, and the tradition of using words to form shapes dates back centuries. The lettering style is an ornate script known as Fraktur, which adds a special flourish to the art while still being clearly legible to modern readers. The rich dark red background is goatskin parchment, dyed red before the calligraphy to emphasize the unique texture of the surface. The fine art print is 8 x 10 inches, matted in an 11 x 14 inch black mat.
