Yes. I used it for my coat and sleeping bag after working a backcountry trail crew all summer. Removed the stains and most of the smells. I used a little bit of white vinegar for the rest.

it is shelf stable for a year . I have used it after its been open for a while and it cleans just as well.

Definitely NOT! There is a potential for problems if you wear clothes impregnated with optical brighteners in natural sunlight. You should definitely avoid UV brighteners. NikWax is the best product that you can use for your outdoor wear. It will keep your active wear looking and performing like new.
