Knight Fever!: The Collected Outpourings of T. F. Shagworde

Empire LRP, by Profound Decisions is the UK's largest live-action roleplay festivalI help run the on-site Library. A few years ago, the first novella in this collection turned up in the Library tent, delivered by an anonymous benefactor and set in the world of the game. I was bemused - and slightly suspicious - but it sold well, and by the third volume, I found I could start a small stampede by standing at the tent door and shouting "We've got the new Shagworde!"As I was involved in the planning of a signing for the release of the fourth story in this collection, I decided that I really ought to read them. And I was please to find that they are a delight: sweet, silly and merely suggestive rather than graphic, a true celebration of the daftness and joy of romantic love.

These stories are an absolute delight! I wasn't familiar with EMPIRE when I first read them so was a little worried that I may not understand the world it was set in but I needn't have. There's a glossary at the back but you don't really need it. These stories are very accessible, wonderfully cheeky and full of fun characters. I especially liked the range of inclusive relationships represented. This is the kind of light hearted book you just don't want to put down and you'll be dying to read the funniest bits to your mates. More please!
