Stormchaser (The Edge Chronicles, No. 2)
I have had trouble getting my 10 year-old son to read this school year. He had always been an avid reader...I saw Beyond the Deep Woods (The Edge Chronicles, No. 1)in a local bookstore and thought he might enjoy it. He loved it! Actually I did too! So here I am reviewing the 2nd book in the series, Stormchaser. It's full of adventure, extraordinary characters, and an original storyline.

LOVE THESE BOOKS!!
I don't like to read too much..in fact, if you ask anyone who really knows me, they will tell you I pretty much HATE reading. However, I picked up the first book to this "Edge Chronicles" series and fell in love with it. Decided I had to get the next 2, I started to read them avidly, I had already read them before I purchased the first 3 in the series because I had borrowed them from my local library. So I knew what I was getting into. Seriously, I think these books are a great read.

Very satisfying. The writer has a flair for description that lets you see and smell the world very clearly without being drug down by the details. Enjoyable to the last, can't wait to read the next one.

Up, up and away
Picking up from where "Beyond the Deepwoods" left off, Twig fortuitously rescues his friend Caterbird from Undertown, and manages to glean some very important information about the floating city of Sanctaphrax, his father, and the amazing power of stormphrax, which comes from a single lightning bolt during the Great Storm. It seems that there's a by-product of stormphrax, named phraxdust that can instantly purify the foulest of water, and therefore is of vital commercial importance to all the inhabitants of The Edge.Unfortunately, the conversion of stormphrax to phraxdust is a pursuit fraught with danger, and many poor souls have perished trying to discover the perplexing secret.Back on the sky ship Stormchaser, Twig erases any Brownie points he has previously notched by losing a valuable cargo, forcing his cash-strapped father to go storm chasing, in a quest to bring back some precious stormphrax and pay off his debts. His father refuses to take him along, but Twig allows himself to be talked into stowing away, and in doing so, unwittingly reveals one of his father's most precious secrets.A terrific adventure follows, but unfortunately, not according to plan, and Twig finds himself leading a motley crew through the maddening Twilight Forest and the perilous mire.Learning the secret of phraxdust, Twig uses it to manipulate the political powers to his advantage, and bargains his way back to the skies, after engineering a coup in the floating city, and distributing the balance of power in Undertown.Dark, gruesome, disgusting and exciting, this installment has more adventure than the first, but adds politics, greed, deception and treachery to the mix.Amanda Richards, January 17, 2005

The whole family loves this book and series!
This is just an awesome book and series. It is hard to give it enough praise, but we have all read it multiple times. My 10 year old son refuses to stop reading the series from start to finish. Since purchasing this a few months ago he has read all 10 or so books 4-5 times through already. He always finds something new and interesting each time he reads it. For any fans of sci-fi and fantasy this is absolutely one of the best series we have ever read!

Amazing Product
This product came in an amazing shape. It was a little worn on the cover like it says in the product info. But there were no marks on the pages at all which I am very happy about. I love this series but I only have 1, and 3-7. I plan to order the rest of the series from this company if possible.

Great addition
Although I prefer the original covers of the Edge Chronicle books, the actual content is brilliant - for kids and adults (sometimes more so adults than kids). It can be read by all ages and doesn't necessarily have to be read in any order - each book can be read on its own, although, if you choose to do this, you will miss out on other great books. The the second book in the Twig trilogy and follows him as he goes 'storm chasing' for the fate of Sanctaphrax counts on it. As not to reveal too much I'll leave it at that - besides you can read it for yourself.

Epic but tragic.
Stormchaser was a awsome book, and the plot was fantastic. Unlike the others you new the basic plot at the start, (but not all the details). However, I felt there were a little to many deaths, and that spoiled it a bit.
