Compact, robust, gets the job done
At 100 by 65 by 15 mm, this is a compact variation in a chain breaker tool. Its comfortable in the hand and small enough to fit into a saddle or frame bag. I've included a photo for reference, my hand is 190 mm from wrist to tip of my middle finger.I got this as I was rehabbing a trashed bike that found out by the bins. The chain on the 3x8 drive was seized and broke my existing no name chain tool that I got as part of an inexpensive tool kit. This quickly and effectively chewed through that seized chain and made shortening the 10 speed replacement a breeze. It includes a spare driver pin that is the same size. Effective for 8/9 and 10 speed, it will probably be fine for 11 speed. I wouldn't like to say if it was too large for 12 speed chains. The hole at the top of the handle is just the right size and shape to fit the driver pin, gripping it tight if you do need to remove/replace the pin.The included chain hook that is a 3rd hand to hold the chain in place while you work is a nice addition. At £15 it's reasonable price for a well made tool, and may well be the last chain breaker I will ever need.

Pretty good - but understand how to use it
This is a good enough tool. It has a nice ergonomic handle; the steel is reasonably hard; and it comes with a spare pin. It's also a good price. That puts it way ahead of he cheapo garbage out there - of which there is a metric ton.I criticise the tool for having a bit too much slack in the threads, but that is not a show stopper, it just makes it slightly less easy to use than it would otherwise be.However, you have to understand one very important thing about how to use this tool (and indeed all chain extractors of this type). When you push out the pin from the chain *do not push it right out* - take it just to the point where you can get the link apart. That will leave between.5mm and 1mm still protruding from the last part of the link in which the pin remains captive. If you do this reassembly is vastly easier because the pin will be held in place, sitting up, waiting - nay begging - to be pushed back into the core. Also, that little protrusion will let you align the pin with the hole in the link-core. If you fail to do this and push that pin right out I promise you there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth and you will also stand a good chance of messing up both the link and the chain tool. Get this right, and all will be well.

So much better than the basic cheap ones
Having gone through 2 of the cheap basic tools, I decided to upgrade but without wanting to spend a fortune. The cheap ones snap easily, can get de-threaded and don't always push pins straight. This one is tight, straight and very effective. I can remove / add links in a fraction of the time, and it's also far more comfortable when you need a lot of pressure to remove a problematic link.Worth a few extra pounds.

Chain Splits and Oily Bits.
I’ve had a few chain tools over the years and this is by far the best.Easy to use and quite accurate.

It did the job for a while
I needed a chain breaker tool so I bought this one since it looked like a nice tool at a good price, and also a slightly smaller Park Tool one. I decided to carry the Park Tool on rides due to it's small size, but it has also proved to be more robust than the BBB, which I kept in my tool box and generally used when changing or shortening chains at home. The BBB broke after a couple of years infrequent use, and the knurled part unscrewed itself in my tool box and got lost, making the tool unusable.

Great tool for its size.
Works very well, but as with most of these tools needs to be perfectly lined up with the pin.

Buon prodotto
Prodotto all'apparenza robusto e facile da utilizzare.
