There are some outdoor wiring situations which that are just too tricky for solder and shrink tubing. Telephone type wire is often like that. These little connectors do a great job at making the connection in relatively tight sometimes precariously placed quarters and they water proof it all at the same time. Used them to splice a telephone line and to repair the solar cell charger on my outdoor Christmas lights. The proper crimping pliers are not a must, but they really do make using these easier, and it is imperative to be sure that all leads placed into the connector go all the way in until they are fully seated before crimping. otherwise, you'll have wasted a connector, lost a bit of bit of wire length which may already be critically short, and be chasing otherwise inexplicably dead leads. Used properly though, these things are great.

Worked well on my garage door sensor

I saw a few reviews stating that the package only had 100. Perhaps that was an issue at some point, but my package had 202 by hand count and that number was confirmed by weight. I completed a couple of test connections of firewire to scab wire and they work well. A bit stiff for my old fingers to seat by hand. However, when running wire, I've always got pliers handy and they seated easily and properly. At .05/unit, I'll keep using them for my demolitions and fireworks runs.

Its hard to dislike these since the price for 100 is pretty reasonable. I have just started using them , in a limited fashion, to interconnect numerous 26 AWG low voltage DC wires. By all appearances, and under a pull test, they seem to grip the wires well. Connectivity appears good as well. The only negative comment, is that maybe one out of ten seems faulty as far as the connector action (meaning when wires are inserted and push/snap button is depressed, it dosen't.) This may possibly be me but I'm not sure yet, Sure beats other traditional connectors,

If you don't want to solder wires, then these are a great solution. Very easy to use. I was surprised that there is some king of clear gell covering all the pieces in the bag. I thought it might interfear with the connections (because it is also inside the channels for the wires) but the seem to work fine.

Almost a great product besides the fact that some of them (quiet a few actually) had the insert that you have to push down missing. They were there but in the bag somewhere so they actually fell apart. Not a big issue but annoying.

Arrived today so I decided to test a few out. The wires won’t fit properly all the way in (1 out of 10). The ones that I did get to crimp some of the wires came out. Out of the 8 I tested, I got 5 to work (took some effort to force the wires in enough to get a proper crimp) not worth it at all. I only bought these cheap ones for a hobby and need to extend some wiring temporarily until I’m done with the event, then they get thrown away. I wasn’t too concerned about water proofing at all, my biggest concern was getting a proper crimp and these failed miserably. Don’t waste your money.
