This opener is the elite while being reasonably affordable. It has a very comfortable weight to it and works really well!

These are now terrible
I have several of these from different eras.I recently purchased two more. They are awful.The silky smooth operation is gone - these are gritty and nasty. The worm is misshapen and I just ripped two corks in half on two 2010 California Cabs from Mssr Harlan - not a guy to have bad corks. Whatever Vinturi had going for it - they switched vendors or something. You cannot trust any review before mid-2023, because the corkscrews that I bought in June of 2023 are a total waste of money, a disappointment, and a serious blemish on the brand equity of the Vinturi folks.Get your quality assurance right, Vinturi, and when you switch vendors you have to be very sure that you’re doing it right. Here, you did not.
