30 Nuances - Art Book - 240 Pages, 8.25 by 5.7 inches, Bodoni binding lays flat when open

Nicely bound (book binding is exposed on the edge.) Paper has a tooth and is high quality. Great for multi-media, sketching and watercolor. Generous paper count.

I liked the cover artwork which is why I ordered the notebook.On arrival I was impressed with the cover set and with the stitched, lie flat pages. It was received in protective sealed plastic wrap.I loathe starting a new sketchbook on page one so I opened to the middle. I read the review that said ink bled through the pages (maybe alcohol based ink) so thought I would test it with water.I started a watercolor wash. There were 2 very wet washes applied over 24 hours. There was very minor buckling when dried. There was not bleed through on the paper but the watercolor did seep through where the stitching is in the center. It only seeped through the stitching to the page directly below. There was some scrubbing of the paper in an area where I changed the image and while it didn’t disintegrate it looks a little worn.While the pad is not watercolor paper it will certainly suffice for watercolor sketches.I did some photos of the watercolor to post but do not seem to have the option to add images to the review at the moment.I am pleased with the pad both in quality and size. I would have liked elastic to keep the pad closed when carrying and not in use but I can add a rubber band.All in all, a nice multipurpose notebook for notes or artwork.Update May 2022I remain pleased with this sketchbook and am buying more. The lie-flat stitching makes it a pleasure to use. It handles ink with a bit of bleeding, watercolor, crayons and pencil nicely. Finally able to add some pics to the review so you can see the watercolor.

Size is convenient for journaling. Bought this as a gift for my cousin. She loves the decor on the cover. The cover is light duty—more like a heavy cardstock than a durable cardboard. Pages are acid-free, though not as smooth as I expected.

I have seen this style of notebook in Asia, with the stitching on the side.I thought this would have customized painting on the cover but it looks like any cheap notebook, including the cover material. It would be better to buy one and decorate it yourself. And they spelt kohl wrong--the first word.

My absolute favorite sketchbook right now. The paper is super great for drawing and handles wet media great!

This book is good paper for dry media. I used markers on the first page and it bled through to the next page. I didn't go heavy on the marker either. My next experiment on it was to use watercolor pencils and it did OK with a "light" water activation. That's about as far as I would go on this paper. I'll probably only use it for graphite and colored pencil sketches. The cover isn't very thick paper, its not sturdy and gets bent easily. So, probably won't carry it around in my purse like I'd want because it is a lovely book. All-in-all the book is nice and will serve a purpose for dry media well.
