TR6 Torx Security Screwdriver for Mac Mini 2014 Hard Drive Upgrade with TR9 Torx Screwdriver and Logic Board Removal Tool

This was the perfect tool set for the upgrade of my 2014 Mac Mini. Successfully replaced the 500GB HDD with a 240GH SSD and totally improved the performance and responsiveness of my Mac Mini. It is now pleasant to use.

I order this kit, and was excited to finally pull the old 5400RPM HDD out of my old mac mini. I was able to get in without and issue, and swapped this with an SSD I had laying around from another project. When putting things back together, I noticed the last 3 screws had some trouble getting in, and felt a little stripped. Now, it turns out the SSD was laying around for a reason; it's broken. In any case, I reached for my tool kit to find the head of the T6 needed for this job is COMPLETELY rounded, as evidence in the attached photo. Now, I'm stuck with an unusable device, and I'll need to go buy another one of these drivers after only one use. Look elsewhere, this is not a quality toolkit, and not even a good deal for the price!

These tools worked great for replacing a hard drive in the Mac mini. I actually ended up not using one of the screwdrivers.

I ordered my SSD drive along with this kit. I watched the youtube video and got it done in less then an hour.

You can use a Coat hanger for pulling it out but the Torx heads stripped on the 3rd screw... JUNK!!!! Do Not Buy!!!!

Used these tools to replace HDD with SDD (what a huge difference by the way). Works exactly as it should.

Arrived quickly and as described. I used it to upgrade the ram in my 2018 Mac mini.

Terrible quality on the TR6 driver. Either the tip was already stripped or I stripped it within the first seconds of trying - I was excited to receive the product quickly and did not inspect before trying. The TR6 did not even attempt to overcome the torque of the screw before the tip completely stripped. If it matters, the driver that was sent did not match the photo on Amazon and was T6H instead of TR6 (I think they are the same but maybe not). Regardless, the total number of 2014 Mac Mini screws I was able to remove with it were ZERO. Returning the product and trying another product.

Had to return the full kit as the TR6 (the main reason I ordered) stripped after loosening a few screws, it must be made of very soft metal. I’ll look for a better quality set.
