Was looking for a pen holder and unimpressed by the standard office-y fare made in metal mesh or awful bland plastic. Saw this and loved it right away. It looks great on my desk and holds a decent number of pens. Everyone loves it.

I am a school and nursery photographer, and I needed a pencil holder for a scene that I was putting together.This item does not disappoint; It is machined out of a solid piece of wood. It is heavy and solid. The blade part of the sharpener is lovely and shiny.Can't fault it, great piece of kit, whether you want it to photograph, or to simply sit on your dest with pens and pencils.

Bought 'Dark' as I wanted the front metal "sharpening" part to be gold-shade. The other colourways have that front metal part in silver-shade.Expensive at £15 for a pen pot ('Dark' has a single compartment), but what you're paying for is its appealing resemblance to a giant pencil sharpener. Note: you can't actually sharpen a pencil with it. That resemblance has been done well. Decent build quality. It's particularly nice that it's wood and metal (no plastic), like traditional pencil sharpeners before they started to be made from plastic.The box is presentable should you want to give it as a gift. The box is fairly thick cardboard, and is of the fold-and-tuck design (not glued) so it's easily unfolded to make it flat for recycling.

I’ve had one of these for years and it is still in excellent condition. I recently bought another one for a present and it remains a sturdy product. It’s a decent size and fits a good selection of pens and pencils. Would recommend.

I bought this for my son and he loves it, but to be honest if he had hated it I would have kept it and used it myself as I love it too! I opted for the dark wood with gold coloured fittings because I thought it looked "classier" and I think I made the right choice. It holds a good number of pens/pencils - don't be fooled by the image it is deep enough that the pens don't stick up like the ones shown. It is sturdy and very well made, and the solid base means it won't tip easily. It might be useful if a waxed coffee cup (or a plastic one) could be cut down to sit inside as a liner without showing over the edge, just in case a pen leaks. Totally recommend this product, it makes a brilliant present - or just treat yourself!

My original purchase of a light-toned wood was at our local art museum, and I was thrilled to find these at Amazon. Loved mine; great build quality and machining, the "blade" is shiny and looks real, and the wood finish is excellent. Bought one for my wife and myself, and the retro-ness is a treat. The blade is not something you can cut yourself with, but if you put in pencils point up, well, then don't be a klutz like me. 100% recommended for fun (the pencil cup, not the poked hand).

I ADORE this cleverly designed pencil cup! It's beautifully made and just the right size for my 25 assorted pencils--now organized. Looks super on my desk. I'm buying more to give to friends.
