Meh, fine
Not very good at the actual opera. I forgot to check the magnification intensity on these and they just don't magnify very much. Good probably as a novelty gag though, or maybe as part of a costume. Kinda cheap, but not as cheap as you might be worried.

I'm not sure if I like these or not.
I'm not sure if I like these or not. They arrived brand new, however they looked in bad shape. The lenses were dirty on the inside, so I had to unscrew the caps and clean them. However the micro fiber cloth that came with the opera glasses was not micro fiber. It left lent everywhere. The bag that came with them is OK and has a slight odor but nothing drastic, just typical for this type of material. I've had bags like this before and they usually last six months to a year. Would have preferred a compact hard case.Back to the opera glasses themselves. They cleaned up very nicely, they had a little oil on them at first that kept making them smudge very easily. The handle does extend, however it does not lock. Instead it uses a oil and section kind of mechanism to keep the handle extended, definitely will not last for years. I would say these are kind of a pour design. They do look identical to the ones sold at the Ballet. But I'm sure the quality is completely different, or the ones at the ballet where highly overpriced. I paid about $23.00 for these opera glasses, but I would say their only worth about $15.00. They do have glass lenses, and the frames are made out of different types of metal. The adjusting screw that controls the focus moves smoothly. They did magnify about 3X as advertised. And they definitely will work for the opera or ballet as long as your seats are no further than center orchestra. Otherwise you may have to go with a more simplistic looking pair of binoculars. But make sure you get something with a large field of view. These ones only have a field of view of 25 which is plenty for the strength that they are.

The opera glasses are a perfect size for her arthritic hands and the little handle ...
I purchased these for my Mom who is 92 and has severely arthritic hands. She lives in a retirement community and right outside her window, a duck has taken up residence to lay her eggs. Mom had a difficult time seeing the duck since it was under a bush and camouflaged in the mulch. Mom has to stand up from her motorized wheelchair and lean on the window sill to see out the window; she's not too steady on her feet. The opera glasses are a perfect size for her arthritic hands and the little handle is easier for her to hold on to with one hand while holding on to the window sill with the other hand. Mom really got a kick out of them when I gave them to her!

came free with binoculars
They are opera glasses 3X 25 power, I gave them to my wife and she loves them. They are well made and very attractive. They are clear and I have only used the to look at the humming birds at the feeder but they do an excellent job. If you need a low power glass that is quite small and easy to carry in a pocket you cannot beat these. I recommend them for that use, but do not expect them to substitute for a general purpose binocular.

Pretty Little Thing for theatre lovers !
It’s pretty, it’s small, and it’s functional. You might want to spend a little time to adjust for the beat focus, and you kind of have to adjust it every time you use it. However, once you get used to it, it takes like 3 seconds, so it really not a big deal to me. I love going to musicals and plays, but I can’t afford the “best seats,” so this pretty little thing helps me enjoy the shows a lot more ! Even when I am far far away from the stage. Do keep in mind, it is only 3x , but considering the price, I think it’s a great value!

Wife Used Them in NYC at Phantom of the Opera Loved Them
My son was taking my wife and daughter on a 3 day trip to NYC to see Phantom and at the last minute asked me to see if she could get a pair of opera glasses. I chose these for the look and price and got them next day mail. She loved them with the chain and bag. They were light enough she used them for the whole play. She said that she felt like she was on stage. They were clear easy to use and bring with you. My son tried them and liked them even though we just use scopes and binoculars .

I was disappointed
It is cheap and poorly made. It was broken when it arrived. In addition, I do not believe lorgnette opera glasses are as easy to use as opera glasses on a chain.

Cheap and nasty
For the price, I didn't expect much, however, I have purchased a pair of small binoculars from a petrol station that work better than these! They do magnify, yes. Are they clear? No.I purchased these as I saw a show on the balcony in drury lanes theatre royale, and they do not have glasses for hire.During the performance, the glasses fell off the chain. Throughout, I could see various parts of the insides of the lenses.Very disappointed, but not shocked.

Ok
I bought 2 pairs of these they were ok I found that the handle was a bit loose on them and therefore couldn't hold them aswell as i would have liked the handle eould only tighten so much when i tried myself also wasn't as clear as I was hoping after many attempts trying to refocus them.

Sturdy, well weighted and fine magnification.
Sturdy and attractive pair of opera glasses. Good magnification to pick out finer details on stage. Nice heavy metal construction, had a surprisingly sturdy feel for such a good value item. Packaging and carry case were equally attractive.
