Strong reel -- Let down by pinion gear finish making rough noises
This reel has been made with good bearings, in all the important places, but it still sounds a bit rough.First I checked the main gears and noticed that the shaft action felt a little rough, but no glaring faults.The reel comes well greased. So tested again and it was still making some nasty noises.I thought it must be the pinion gear assembly that was at fault, so I checked that out and found some rough edges on the inside of the pinion gear through hole, that once removed using a drill bit, improved things.If you buy from Amazon and you get a noisy reel you can return easily, but i would rather buy a Daiwa and not have any problems in the first place.
