This hole cutting bit is OUTSTANDING !
I give it a perfect score because of the price , fast delivery and it works perfect for me . I'm using this 2 1/2 inch bit to cut holes through many 4x4 pressure treated wood that's cut into 2 inch pieces . im going down 1.2 inches deep and i need the hole cleared out . i was using a hole saw bit before this amazing one and then i had to use a chisel to clean out the hole . ( i have to do this many times over and over for a wood product that im making to sell ) . i dont have a drill press. im using a 3/8 cordless drill to do this . This bit fits perfect and is FANTASTIC ! when i need bits i will be a customer for life !Here's some advice about using this bit : if you dont have a drill press and your gonna use a hand drill , you will have to make a jig /template with a hole saw by cutting out an 2 1/2 inch hole cut all the way through in a spare piece of wood. Then place that template / piece of wood with the hole cut through over the place that you want to cut with this bit . why ? you ask . because you will never start the hole without it with a hand drill . it will kick and dance and you cant control it . also , make sure you clamp down your template and project wood . and most important : when using this bit , power your drill slow and barely kiss the wood to get it started . YOU WILL BREAK YOUR WRIST IF YOU POWER UP FAST TO START . just go soft and slow through the template that you made and this bit will make a perfect clean hole right on the mark . oh , 1 more thing VERY IMPORTANT . this bit is super sharp and you will ruin it and make it dull if you use too much power . (thats why i use my cordless drill and not my hammer drill) . if the wood burns then your going way too fast . That's with any hole saw bit of any type on the market and it will become dull and useless . you dont have to go fast and hard . anyway, if you take my advice then the hole will be absolutely perfect and clean . and your bit will stay sharp forever .

Spurs are tooo long.
The outside spurs are longer than the centering pin. This make it very difficult to start the bit into the wood. Yes, yes, on the drill press. That is why there are all those complaints about the erratic behaviour of the bit. The centering pin is what stabilizes the bit on contact with the wood. Then the outside cutters should slice the wood. And yes that would leave a deeper hole from the centre pin, but that is what a forester bit is all about. Tell the manufacturer to correct this defect.
