Has anyone tried these without added protection (tampon/pad)? If you did, did it work out or did they leak? How long did they last?

If you leak in these does it get absorbed or does it sit on top of the fabric? Or make a mess?

Are they noisy? I have a different brand and the waterproof liner makes a crunchy sound when I walk. I'm looking for something quieter.

If worn with pads, does this protect longer than the area a pad would?
