Forge Premium Quality Lever Action Corkscrew Wine Bottle Opener with Foil Cutters (Black)

I have been looking for a replacement wine bottle opener since my old one died... I saw this item and thought "PERFECT" as it was smaller than my old one and could be easily displayed on my bar. Now it wasn't until I got this at home that it was mainly made of hardened plastic, not thrilled with that at all... The handle and the trigger are both metal but the moving parts are all plastic and when you pull the lever it clicks like it is rubbing against the main housing. this doesn't make me think this item will last long...Now that being said, I have used it several times without incident and the base with the cutters on was a nice design. My wife has used this and she likes it also. I would definitely advise you buy this item but to realize the life of this item may be shortened due to its construction. I may update this as I love to drink wine and this will be my primary opener now.

UPDATE 12/12/18 -- My concerns were quickly realized: The screw/worm has gotten very dull; it became harder to pull corks; and plastic casing broke making it unusable.The Bottom Line: Good price, but won't last long.I have used many of these lever types of corkscrews over many years. Some were very good and lasted quite a while. Some were very disappointing and fell apart quickly. This one incorporates a great design and works well, fairly smooth operation but not as smooth as I hoped. You can feel the lever catch on the plastic around the top when pulling down on it. While nothing has broken yet, it causes me to be a little slower and more careful when using it. You need to hold the front and back tightly to the neck of the bottle.Pros: Great value for this type of corkscrew; Good leverage and ease of cork removal; Works on all types of corks; Appears to be well designed and of good construction.Cons: Screw (which often becomes dull after months of use) does not appear to be replaceable; Foil cutter is okay as a stand to display the corkscrew but is terrible at cutting foil.

I have bought two of these corkscrew openers. Both of them broke in the same spot, which leads me to believe that they're is a manufacture defect. I bought these because they say that they have a ten year warranty. The warranty is only as good as the company that honors the warranty. I can't get a hold of the company have tried multiple times and they won't reply back. I will say that they worked awesome before they broke.

I have had this wine opener for over 2 months now. In the beginning I thought the plastic would not last, but the seller offers a 10 year warranty on it, so I gave it a try. It is actually very good product. It's main core is made out of metal and the case is plastic which makes the opener very light! It is also very reliable. I don’t need to worry about a battery anymore! A happy camper here. I don’t usually write reviews expect for really good products.

Product is lightweight, which is good, but it's plastic, which is not so good for durability (in my humble opinion). It works alright, but the foil cutter is only fair, at best. It's OK for the price, but I found another here on Amazon that was much better for $10 more, and that is the one I will be using daily. This will be a backup.

I purchased another of this same type of opener from a different seller. This one broke in less than 60 days. Unfortunately, the one I purchased from the other seller broke immediately after. Initially, it worked great and we were very pleased. It gets used in a bar setting, so it gets a lot of use. We noticed after a while, the unit would lock up and you couldn’t get the cork out. It looks a little rusted inside the unit. This one also seems to have more plastic parts than the one from the other seller. Cheaply made product.

I was skeptical because it was all plastic, but, I have had no issues with it at the 30 bottles of wine point. It actually seems pretty durable. If it fails, I'm ordering another one!

We had another similar to this one that broke on us. I ordered this one and it arrived quickly. It has a feature that is easier to use than the other one! Also - the packaging has been changed to the BETTER! Thank you! No more struggling with plastic clam shell enclosures.
