OK -here-is-a-simple-question- Do the Bits store in the Handle ?

No, there is a rather strong spring in the handle. Don't try to unscrew it!

How much of this tool is metal and how much is plastic?

The handle and bit tension nut are plastic as is the bit holder. The rest ofthe product is metal. I'd recommend a lot of lubricant on the actual mechanism for better performance.

So... I am unable to remove the bits from the end of this screwdriver.... any suggestions? Frustrating.

If the bit is one with a “bulb”on it, I pull the top toward me until it stops, then take the bit out. If the bit is just a small one, I have to use a pair of pliers to pull away from the drill to get it out. It feels as though it might have a magnet to help hold it in.qa Sorry I don’t know 🤷♀️ the technical terms. I have used this type of drill for over 60 years . I come from Philadelphia and we called it a Yankee Drill.
