SYOAUTO Gunpowder Rim Touch Up Paint For Tesla Model Y 3 S X Uberturbine/Arachnid/Cybersteam/Turbine Wheel Touch Up Paint Rim Scratch Repair Wheel Curb Rash Paint Pen(Gunpowder)

I bought my 2021 Tesla Model Y Performance used, and 3 out of 4 of the wheels had been curbed. 2 out of 4 had red paint embedded in the rash, so this knuclehead obviously curbed the wheels in a NO parking zone. LOL. Included in the deal was $65 x 3 to have the curb rash fixed. Instead of taking the car back to leaving it for a day to get the wheels fixed, I thought, "I'll try to fix it myself. If it doesn't come out good, I'm out $10 and if it does, I can get $195 back." I used a Dremmel with a sanding drum to gently take out the worst of the rash and then painted over those spots with this touch-up paint. BAM!! Good enough. If you get up close you can see the rash, but from more than 5-6" you don't even notice it. Keep in mind that the human eye is automatically drawn to the lightest/brightest object in a scene or photo, so the main reason curb rash gets your attention is due to the bare aluminum showing thru the gunpowder gray finish of the Uberturbine wheels. One change I made was to upsize the tires to 275/35-21 front and 295/35-21 rear and the tires now covers some of the rim that had rash AND provides protection against ME being the next knucklehead to curb my wheels.PROS:- Matches Uberturbine wheels perfectly- Easy to apply with the beveled applicator brush- Come with more than enough to fix your wheels and have some for future mishapsCONS:- IDK? It's paint so go slow and try to apply to only the areas where the finish is damaged. Be sure to shake it up to mix the paint well, as it is metallic paint.

Good color match for 23 model y performance. You have to shake it for at least 2 minutes to blend the paint. Easy to apply and quick to dry.

I used this on a stock 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance wheel and it blends very well. I did very little wheel prep, simply cleaned off the damaged area and applied 3 light coats of paint. Obviously if you bend down and look, you'll see the damage still; but walking by or casually looking the car over, the curb rash no longer stands out.

I sanded the rough edges, used a little bondo to fill the gouges and re-sanded, then painted with the SYOAUTO Gunpowder Rim Touch Up Paint. It looks pretty good and is hard to see if you don't look specifically for it. Looks even better in direct sun than shade believe it or not. (picture is in shade) I'm tempted to sand once more and re-apply to see if I can get the brush strokes out. But if you're looking for perfect, not sure painting with a brush is going to get you there.

As you can see in the picture, there was significant curb rash damage to these rims. My friend and I sanded down the damage, and then used this paint with only 1-2 applications and these are the results. The paint match is nearly perfect, and you cannot even notice it from a distance, only a trained eye will spot it from more than 4-5 feet away. Excellent value for the money, highly recommend sanding the rim beforehand as that will get the best application. The third image shows the paint on top with the sanded rim without paint on bottom.

Great color match to my Tesla Überturbine rims! Just make sure you "shake it up" for a good minute before applying and prep the surface by light sanding and then cleaning it with rubbing alcohol or something to degrease.

The Amazon description says it matches my 2018 Tesla M3 for 'gunpowder' wheels. I followed directions, ensuring it was shaken well before applying. It looks black on the gray wheels. Plus, it didn't seem to stay on the wheel over the scuffed area for some reason. I covered the entire area but it later looks like the photo. Returned.
