Great drill with a fair price!
This Makita hammer drill is very well balance with plenty of power to drill into most concrete substrates and surfaces. This purchase was to replace my original Makita Hammer Drill of the same model that was 20+ years old. I highly recommend Makita tools!!

You know you want it; just buy it.
I had an old electric drill die on me (old Black and Decker from about 30-years ago). So, was looking for a replacement and one that did the hammer drill so I can install those self-threading masonry bits (the blue ones) in brick/rock. Works like a champ. You know it is good; just expensive. Just buy it.Only con is the nose is a little long, doesn't get in tight spaces.

Great drill for the price
Used this drill to mount my Gun Safe to the concrete slab in the house. Used Dewalt Rock Carbide bit to drill through both the metal of the safe as well as the laminate and then concrete floor. I put on my 1" drill bit and dilled the concrete to a depth of about 3 inches. Drilled 2 holes and this thing is amazing. It whent through the slab like Butter. I think people that had a bad experience were probably not using the right bit for the job. Granted I only drilled 2 holes so I'm not a construction worker thats going to use this as a Heavy Duty all day drill. For the homeowner as a medium duty drill you just cant beat the price. Chuck is all metal and not plastic like some other drills. Can be used in Hammer mode or regular drill mode. Lots of torue in low speed setting.Only downside is the case that comes with it is a plastic piece of junk. The licking tabs are plastic as well, very flimsy and not as sturdy as the dewalt cases but I didnt buy the drill for the case. Depth Guide was a great feature. The only thing that would have made this 5 star is if it had a light like my other drills.

Not Great
Good product this drill just didn't do what I thought it would. I borrowed my buddies Makita HR2641 and it drilled 16 1/2" holes like it was butter. I couldn't tighten this one enough to hold the drillbit.

It doesn’t take its time.
This one has some power. Hoping for years of use. Drills the hole immediately and doesn’t ask permission.
