Cute book for kids
Tells the resurrection part of the Easter story well enough for young children. Melodic rhythm, although the repetitive lines are a little annoying for me as the reader... but I can get over it since my kids enjoy hearing it and join in.

Great Easter book!
This is a good picture book about the Resurrection. It has a pattern sort of like “The House that Jack Built”, and the kids really enjoy it. The kids loved the illustrations too. Highly recommend!

FUN READ ALOUD!
Well done rhyme! It is hard to do any story in rhyme, but she's done a great job with the structure and storyline. Nicely done, Mrs. Lord!

Beautiful Easter "Coffee Table Book" for Kids
That Grand Easter Day is a beautiful hardcover book with dust jacket. Really, it’s like a “coffee table book” for kids. That means that I probably would not give it to a preschooler, unless you plan to just read it to him or her. And honestly, books like this provide a good teaching opportunity. Talk to little kids about the importance of treating books with respect. When they’re little, there’s probably not much you can do to prevent chewing, etc. But as they get a bit older, they can learn. This book follows the pattern of “there was an old lady who swallowed a fly.” So, it’s repetitive. That’s a great thing for helping kids learn about the patterns of language — how it sounds, and how to read it. An example: " …startled the man who fled with a zoom — leaving the bunny that munched on a bloom, alone by the stone that was now rolled away, revealing the place where Jesus first lay, before he arose on that grand Easter Day!"The illustrations are lovely, featuring pastel, muted shades that are calming. The first and last pages have Bible verses. This is a wonderful book to give to a child for Easter. It’s certainly more lasting — and of more lasting value — than a chocolate rabbit.

Perfect Easter Story!
I received this free from WorthyKids/Ideals. All opinions are always my own.Easter is coming! One of our favorite holidays. Not because of the Easter Bunny, hunting eggs or Easter baskets either. Ask my kids what Easter is all about and they will tell you it's the day Jesus rose from the tomb and took his place next to God in Heaven. AMEN!!What a wonderful occasion to celebrate right?! So very thankful that I have the chance to be forgiven of my sins and know I have a place waiting in Heaven. And so blessed to be able to share this will my children too. That Grand Easter Day! is all about what happened when the stone was rolled away. It's full of rhyming words and has beautiful, engaging illustrations to go with the story. The story starts with the tomb and ends Jesus being risen! Using imagination about the people, places and things all around the tomb that might have played a part on that wonderful Easter day.I truly adore this book! It just draws you in and truly makes you think about what was going on around the tomb that day. This is a perfect book for kids to understand what Easter is really all about.

Rhythm, rhyme and repetition surrounding the Easter celebration...
SUMMARY:Read to the tune of “This is the House that Jack Built”, That Grand Easter Day! follows the format in both rhythm and rhyme. Along the way of the story, main characters are introduced with the initial verse of “That Grand Easter Day!” repeated throughout. Easy to read with gloriously stunning illustrations, this book contributes joyously to the Easter celebration!A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:Beautifully illustrated with a straight-forward, simple yet eloquent verse, That Grand Easter Day! praises the Easter jubilation in a perfect way. I loved the easy to read and rhyme stanzas with the repetition of certain phrases; wonderful to read to little ones while also being remarkable enough for new readers. Liking the bunny that appears in the story, I admire the way tradition meets contemporary with room for both. (After all, didn’t God create bunnies?) I hope to find more same-style books from Jill Roma Lord and Alessia Trunflo observing other important holidays in a like-manner. (Perhaps a series of them?) Well done!RATING:5 (out of 5) pennies*I received a complimentary copy of That Grand Easter Day! from Worthy Publishing for my honest review*
