Worth it!
I was nervous about using this in a smoothie especially because I dont care for smoothies. However, you cant tell it's in the drink. The most I've been able to tell is a slight milky aftertaste which isnt bad at all. The root cause smoothie recipe I've been using to put this in has really been filling and helping me have more energy. It's expensive but I believe you get a good quality product for the price.

Excellent protein source for people with sensitivities
I'm loving this protein powder. I've been using it a couple times a day for several months. I have a lot of food and additive sensitivities and happy to say I have none with this product. It's a safe food when my gut can't tolerate regular meals too.I've started talking it every morning in a matcha latte. So good and I feel great!Highly recommend.

You might prefer just cutting up pieces of meat and putting those in your drink
You might as well just eat the powder! This is probably the worst purchase I have ever made from Amazon. I tried to dissolve it each way to Sunday - plain hot, cool, tap water; smoothie; in my coffee; in my juice and all I got were orange colored clumps. I even tried beating it up with my frother wand and even that didn't work. If you don't mind clumps, this is for you.

Great protein powder for dietary restrictions!
After years of not being able to find a very clean protein powder with compliant ingredients for my lifestyle, I was happy to find this Rootcology AI protein powder. It’s just beef with no other additives. I was a bit concerned that it would taste “beefy”, so I was hesitant to purchase. After emailing the company to ask about the taste, they assured me that it would not taste like beef in my smoothie. I decided to order it and give it a try.The first time, I added a ton of strong flavored fruits and vegetables to my smoothie to mask the possible taste of beef - I didn’t taste it. So, I decided to back off on the extra flavors and made a green smoothie - no beefy taste either! Now, I just make a green smoothie with my regular ingredients - coconut milk, greens, apple, and maybe some blueberries, and it tastes great - and it’s FILLING! I like to eat only 3 meals per day, and this protein powder takes me until my lunch hour, with about 4 hours between meals. It’s great to know that there are supplements that cater to people with very strict dietary restrictions, as there are not many out there.

Rootcology Paleo Protein Vs. Julian Bakery Paleo Protein
My first HydroBEEF protein powder was Juiian Bakery Paleo Thin powder - Vanilla Nut flavor. However it has 3 grams of saturated fat per serving and my doctor wants me to reduce my saturated fat intake, so I went looking for a similar but lower-fat product. That's how I found the Rootcology. The Julian Bakery powder is absolutely delicious. It has 23g Protein / 2 Net Carbs / aforementioned 3 grams saturated fat per serving. The Rootcology is very bland / no flavor, 26g Protein / Unknown amount of Carbs / 0.5 grams total fat per serving. Both are finely ground powders that get very sticky when wet and will stick to the sides of the blender or glass. The Julian Bakery is better tasting but if I add different nut milks or coconut milk to make a smoothie, the saturated fat content goes up pretty fast. The Rootcology is therefore more versatile in regards to what I can add to it and still keep the fat content low.I do have Hashimoto's and am still experimenting with smoothies. But so far I feel sated and full after a smoothie using this Rootcology powder. Don't feel tired or bloated. But you definitely need to add some fruit and something else with flavor, because the powder itself is tasteless.I plan to try mixing the Julian Bakery powder with the Rootcology and see if that improves the flavor while still keep the saturated fat under 2 - 3 grams per serving. Basically it is an attempt to dilute the fat content. Otherwise this is a good product so far.

A little unexpected, but great!
I didn't quite know what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. I blended 40g powder with 9 oz almond milk, a few drops of monk fruit, some ground vanilla bean, and 15g almond butter, and I didn't have any issues with clumping. I had been using rice protein previously and this has no grittiness; it creates a very dense, creamy texture. I did not discern any flavor or smell. It was denser than I expected and I'll use more liquid next time, but overall, no complaints!

Clumpy and unknown Heavy Metal Content
I bought this protein powder because it’s free of a lot of allergens. However, even with hot coffee the powder will not dissolve. The biggest thing for me is I reached out to the company weeks ago if they test for heavy metals and they never responded. I switched to “needed” who test their product for almost everything. It dissolves so well with no taste-I’ve made the permanent switch to “Needed collagen powder”

The beefiest beefy smell/taste :(
Great source of protein, but the taste and smell after mixed in with water (to add to coffee) is truly unbearable. So intense, the entire kitchen smells like straight beef broth. Also it clumps and mixes very very hard. For beef lovers this might be a jackpot, for me it's beyond disgusting and sadly I just wasted almost a $100.Review edit: I added 2 stars because the company provides impeccable customer service and that I really appreciate. Even though this protein powder is not for me, it's a high quality product and I can see why so many people are satisfied. I'm just not a beef flavor kind of person.
