Does the job with cheap locks, can be modified to work much better, super cheap.
A big factor in my giving this four stars is the price - I paid less than seven quid for this, and at that price point I'm totally happy with it. Could it be better, even at that price? Probably (see below), but no big deal. I have never picked disc detainer locks before, only pin tumbler ones, but, after watching the lockpickinglawyer's tutorial, I was able to pick both a practice lock, and a cheap and nasty lock provided and branded by a self-storage company, without having to modify the pick at all. (Yes, it was my own lock, from my own storage unit!) (Clearly, they spared every expense in their selection of lock OEM.) For the vast majority of disc detainer locks, though, you're not going to be able to pick them with this thing as supplied. You can, however, fairly easily make it into a tool that will be useful (given the skills) to pick quite a few such locks. The most pressing issue with it is that the little T-shaped end is too thick. You can carefully file it down to make it thinner, but this is risky, because of the way it's made. Which brings me to the way this could be improved even at the low price. The T-shaped end is crimped on to the inner shaft. If you thin it down too much, it won't grip well enough and it will just turn. (Some folk have complained that it does that anyway, but if the grubscrew that secures the inner shaft isn't tight enough, the effect is the same). The improvement that they could make without it getting any more expensive would be to have a single piece inner shaft and T-piece However, the aforementioned grubscrew allows you to do this yourself - just remove the shaft with the crimped on end, and replace it with one with a forged or welded end. Further refinements like positioning marks on the outer shaft, better handles, general improvement in finish, etc., can all be done by the keen DIY type. Many lock picking tools, in fairness, require the user to finish them to their own needs. Overall, then, given that, for me, this would open cheaply made disc detainer locks from the get-go, and is nearer to a generally useful disc detainer pick than, say, making one entirely from scratch, I think it's fair for the price, and I have no complaints. If it were selling for much more, I'd be far more harsh about it, but as it is, no complaints.

Needs to be filed to right size
I had to modify this as the end was to big so I filed it down but it came loose so I had to braze it back on now it works really well

Check first whether dented or broken
Received it in a raw and unfinished state. Have to file down until it is usable.

Don’t bother with this junk
Looks like it was knocked up in a garden shed. Poor build quality & though I wouldn’t say it is useless for everyone, it’s useless to me. I can’t open anything with it, the end of the pick isn’t attached firmly enough to the shaft to allow me to know if a disc is moving, or if it’s the end of the pick rotating. There’s nothing to indicated the position of the shaft relative to the lock either & the whole thing is wobbly. Perhaps someone with skill & experience of other disc detainer picks would have more success, but based on my experience I’d say don’t bother with this rubbish or at least don’t have high expectations.

Cheap, but may not provide what you need
I bought this as I'd never tried to pick this type of lock before and couldn't understand why I wasn't feeling any feedback from the lock. It turns out the tip was turning whenever it felt tension on the lock rather than forcing the disc against the tension. The tip is held in by two very small allen key screws and one of mine wasn't quite tight enough. I managed to get a watch repair place to tighten it up but it came loose again, I've ordered a very small precision toolkit... I personally wouldn't buy another, but for a tenner you may get a usable one, you may not.

Poorly Made - consider even at low price
It's cheap so I should have known but it really is shoddily made and the 'tip' is way too broad for DDL. You might get lucky and pick one of those clear introduction locks but after that this isn't going to be doing the job.

Not very durable and won't work on most disc detainer locks
The actual pick part that interacts with the discs in the lock is too chunky, incapable of moving just one disc, it usually moves two discs which obviously is useless. Frequently needs the core tightening to stop it falling apart. Shame because the materials are good quality, but its simply useless without a finer pick on the end.
