nice
Been wanting to make homemade tortillas, but didn't have a press. This comes with the press and a skilet that matches the size of the press.

Quality Press
The media could not be loaded. Bought this because of the great reviews. I have an induction stove and so this will work beautifully. I am doing this because I only want sourdough bread products and this will be amazing to make sourdough tortillas.

Awesome kit! Great gift!
This tortilla press and griddle are great! They are very well packaged in bright colors and would make an excellent gift. Has a ton of things to get you started on your fresh pressed tortilla journey! The griddle is a perfect size and works on my induction stove top, it heats up and cooks quickly. I love that it has all the items needed, including a pan holder so you don’t burn yourself. Which is what I def need. Overall super happy with this purchase!

Fabulous tortillas at home on my press
I have been wanting to make my own tortillas since we lived in the Phoenix area years ago and this wonderful machine finally gave me the opportunity to. There is nothing better than homemade bread, tortillas, cookies, home made anything actually. I was super excited to get this tortilla press and the weight is pretty hefty as it should be when it's cast iron. This machine is easy to use and I already had a recipe to try from one of my faves back in Arizona so I was ready to go. This tortilla press comes in a cute decorative box that I really like I still have the box. The tortilla press is quality and will last a long time as long as you take care of it and the maintenance on it is super easy. This is so much fun for anyone who loves to cook, I really love this and wholly recommend.

Use-tested under the direction of an authentic Mexican chef on Cinco de Mayo!
Well, okay, my friend is not really a chef, but he is from Mexico and likes to cook, and their kitchen floor is being replaced so we invited his family over to make tacos on May 5. He supplied the pre-mixed masa, and put me to work pressing and cooking the tortillas, after giving me some tips and putting the comal pan on the stove to warm up.The press worked pretty well, but when I followed the instructions and pressed down the handle, then turned and pressed again, the tortilla came out paper thin and would not release from the parchment, so we modified the procedure a bit and only pressed most of the way down, to get a tortilla about 1/12 inch thick that seemed to work very well. The comal pan claimed to be pre-seasoned, maybe it was, I don't know, but the first tortilla stuck to the surface and I had to scrape it off. After about 10 or so tortillas they started cooking better, and after twenty, I was getting authentic charred marks on properly cooked tortillas.Incidentally, the silicone handle for the comal pan was enough to prevent sudden contact burns, but the handle was still way too hot to grasp while cooking. It was a lot of work but everyone said how much better these tortillas were than any of the store-bought brands that we usually encounter, and one or two tortillas each was enough to fill everyone up. I tip my hat to all the abuelas out there who make tortillas by hand. It is a labor of love.I would like to find something better than parchment to press the tortilla, that will release better and not absorb moisture so readily. But it was fun, and I now have a new skill.
