FIFA 14 Ultimate Edition (PS3)

I knew this was a hit when I could hear my son and his friends from the bottom of the road. Not being a gamer I couldn't believe that it could be that engaging ! All the boys thought it was fabulous ... FIFA 13 was great and this doesn't disappoint I'm told - it was worth buying the next edition.

I buy Fifa year on year. It's pretty much the only game I will buy on release for full price, because I play it so much. I thought Ultimate Edition would have the Addidas team but it doesnt. Only some kits and celebrations that you can buy from the EAFC store using points you earn in games anyway. So save you money and spend the difference on Fifa Points and buy all the packs you want in a happy hour. If you're still playing Pro Evolution, buy this as well and compare and see which you prefer, because I will choose this everyday of the year. Fifa 14 isn't massively different to its predecessor, but I definitely don't regret buying it. I'm not sure why but there's something more exciting playing with updated player stats, squads and kits, but I don't think this justifies forking out alone. The gameplay is a lot more refined than previous Fifa's. The controls are sharper more responsive with an increase in the number of animations making gameplay much more slick. Through balls and chance creation is more intuitive than before, and its less frustrating than before. But don't get me wrong it's still a frustrating game. This is because headers have increased scoring probabilities than previous years, which means that the squad you build has to reflect that, though it can be incredibly frustrating when Defoe will beat Chiellini to a header he was no where near. All in all - It's a great game, there's new tweaks to modes (career mode is revamped and has less lag in simulation, menus have marginally less lag, ultimate team is more or less the same except with new chemistry styles, which doesnt change things a whole lot, and they removed formation types from players - which is a very good thing). Overall buy Fifa 14 for xmas, don't buy Ultimate Edition, you're better off spending the money difference of Fifa Points to buy Packs in a happy hour as you only get standard gold packs per week, when it would have been more beneficial to get them all in one go due to market deflation on ultimate team. The other extras included are pointless, that you can just buy using EA Club points, earnt very easily by playing games etc.

Its' FIFA, its the ultimate edition, need I say more! Delivered as being the next step up at the time for football gaming and the Ultimate edition made me continue to love the online gaming part, with regular packs!

Every year I argue with my son about why there is a need for the same game with a different number in the title. I get that teams change but surely it's just a rip off to make everyone pay for a whole new version when an update would be sufficient and technically possible. But that would mean less money for EA Games, so no! Supposedly this one was more expensive because there was less extras to purchase, but the far more irritating part is that you still need in game credits to play certain parts of the game. But I suppose the value per hour entertainment for my teenager is cheap as this seems to be his favourite way of spending his spare time

I was so excited before buying this game. Thought it will be better than all the previous FIFA'S. But, it turns out to be the worst FIFA I've ever played! Game play has just gone worse, you can't dribble, shooting has gone harder. So, basically this game is only about passing and scoring cheap goals! What was EA thinking?! Making the game more realistic?! Well they better reconsider what they're doing because if they stay like this I'm moving to PES!

Too many flaws have destroyed any enjoyment of actually playing football, instead, people are exploiting all the negatives of the game to win. I play a certain style of football, but have found this cannot be done, even post patch!!!! My fear is they have rushed this to an extent; that they really only have eyes on the Next Generation consoles. Sad and bad news for EA - not everyone can afford the new consoles, and therefore will turn their back on this franchise, I for one have!!!!!

I pre ordered this at the start of September as I was getting excited for the game, as I've always been a fan of FIFA. I ordered the Ultimate edition, as i share the game with my brother who loves Ultimate team. At the time I wasn't fussed about the price, it came on time which was brilliant as I've had late deliveries in the past. I played a full evening's worth of FIFA and was pleased that it was better than last year's game and the demo, but there sadly is a problem with the game. EA have improved the variety of shots you can now have when playing, but as brilliant as these new animations and variations are, it's incredibly hard to score. I started a career mode at Manchester United, played a cup match against Gillingham. I played a strong side and after countless attempts scored in the 120th minuet. In the game I had over 20 shots and only one went in!?! Another game I played was against Arsenal, I scored in the first half and dominated it. In the second half they have two chances and surprise surprise they both go in and I lose the game. I prefer the gameplay on the whole, career mode is brilliant this year. But after paying close to £60 and struggling to fulfil the main aim of football, score goals. I know wish I'd bought the normal edition and saved my money up for GTA 5.

Being a HUGE FIFA/FOOTBALL FANATIC! I decided to purchase this product on the PS3 to go with my Xbox 360 Copy so I could play online with my friends and family and WOW! I was NOT disappointed. I am overall really pleased with my purchase. I would 100% recommend this product!
