Handy tools for electrical work
Both tools come in handy and I use ferrules on a lot of wire. Crimper do a terrible job of installing ferrule on wire but this one makes clean well formed ends. The stripper is pretty much like the other strippers avaliable but the brand has always been well made dependable tools and connectors.

Why did I wait so long?
These tools function just like they're supposed to. I've used cheap wire strippers my entire life. The plier type ones. This stripper makes it much easier and accurate. The square crimper? I wish I had been crimping wires with the little metal wire inserts with these! I install a lot of solar and electronic gadgets, and always inserted the bare wires. After tightening the screw down, who knows how long or how well they'll last. These square crimper and the connectors work excellent, and you get a much better hold.

Both work fairly well
This is a very useful set of tools for working with many types of wire. I tested both tools on wire from 24ga, up to 8Ga, and they both worked extremely well for all kinds and sizes of wire I tested, except for two, those were 10Ga and 12Ga solid THHN wire. The issue I had with both of those is that the stripper nicks the solid conductor. It takes so much force to pull apart the THHN insulation that when it breaks through it actually damages the copper conductor, in a way that is quite noticeable. Will it hurt anything? No, not really, most THHN wire is going to end up either in some kind of screw terminal or connected with a wire nut, and the cut into the conductor is not hugely significant, but it does bother me, I would be happier if it did not do this. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen more than half the time.Other than that one very minor issue, I am very happy with these. They have nice comfortable grips, the cutter on the stripper tool works well. The Ferrule crimper works extremely well with all wire sizes from 8Ga down to 24Ga. The 8 Ga takes a bit of pressure, but it actually did a very nice job.The stripper has a plastic stop so you can quickly strip a repeatable amount off the end of each wire, or you can flip it out of the way and strip much more off the end if needed. The handles of both tools are cushioned and provide a very good grip, and the mechanisms of both operate smoothly.I even tried the stripper on some insulated pneumatic tubing I have, and it actually did a great job on that as well, and it didn't nick the inside tubing.

Nice tools to have at your disposal if you do any wiring.
BEST THING ABOUT ITEM: function as intendedADDITIONAL LIKES: comfortable handle, smooth operation, adjustableWORST THING ABOUT ITEM: no instructionsADDITIONAL DISLIKES/CONCERNS: none reallyWARRANTY: AMAZON 30-day; seller mentions 100% customer satisfaction otherwiseCOMMENTS (Function, Appearance, Quality): This kit comes in two plastic covered display cards. Both the wire stripper and ferrule crimper are the same color. The handles are soft and ergonomically comfortable. The units appear well made and flexible and adjustable enough to handle multiple situations. The stripped is also equipped with a wire cutter and several size options for crimping other types of connectors (e.g. ring, fork, spade, butt splices). The wire stripper does well over several sizes, used 12 gauge solid and 20 gauge twisted wire to demonstrate. Ferrule crimper was very effective at making tight posts with both solid and stranded core examples. I like this method of wiring connections and will use it where ever possible in the future.MOST SUITABLE FOR: automotive/audio electronics assembly and wire connectionsIS IT WORTH IT?: The pair costs ~$30 at present. Seems like a fair price for these two comfortable and functioning tools.*PRECISE RATING: 5 (At first I had 4 stars because I thought the stripper was not as effective as my other brand. However, once maker some adjustments to the ‘grab’ side of the stripping apparatus, each strip was just the right depth and clean. See images.)RECOMMENDATION: I recommend this pair of tools for anyone who might need to make audio or electrical connections. They are a nice pair of tools to add to your arsenal.(As always, I will report back if there are any durability issues with additional use.)**Rating scale:5 = definitely buy again, happy to have it (exceptional in several characteristics,)4 = probably buy again (decent job of doing what I need, excels in one or two characteristics)3 = perhaps buy again after researching options (functions OK, looks OK, decent quality, average life expectancy but no outstanding characteristics)2 = would not buy again (low end/below average merchandise and/or service, but not totally worthless)1 = sorry I bought it the first time (poor performance in several characteristics, no redeeming characteristics)Characteristics considered: Presentation/Packaging, Quality, Craftsmanship, Materials, Functionality, Utility/Versatility, Instructions, Ease-of-Use, Comfort, Value.

A must have for clean wiring!
I got this in anticipation of hooking up a sound system in my vehicle. I've been installing for years and the one thing that I always had a hard time was getting all the wires to fit cleanly in the amplifier terminals. I always found that forked splices left something to be desired. This ferrule crimper seems to be just right, though. The terminals now look much more clean and professional than my previous installations and offer a very secure fit. The tool itself seems to be of good quality. It feels solid in the hand and is easy to use. It can be operated with one hand so your other hand can be free to hold the ferrule and wire in place for a clean crimp. It's also survived a few drops to the floor with no damage to speak of. If you're looking to level up your wiring game, look no further!
