LIFE CHANGING SAFETY WALKER
The media could not be loaded. My mom has a diagnosis of either advanced Parkinsonism or multiple systems atrophy (MSA). In addition to that, we've been dealing with NPH (normal pressure hydrocephalus aka elevated brain pressure). Needless to say, standing and walking are becoming harder for her, and falls are becoming more frequent. However, when able, we want her to have independence and she needs to keep walking if we want her to be ambulatory and not bedridden. My husband and I thought 'we need an adult-sized toddler walker' and that is EXACTLY what this is. This walker supports her from under her armpits whenever her legs give out (and can let them sit, if you also use the option seat(s) feature, covered later). This has been a life changer for us! Doctors, nurses (in home, in hospital, in skilled nursing facility) and therapists have all LOVED THIS. Because of her essential tremor and being legally blind, she can't get herself in and out of the seat or back safety rail, so typically those are not attached for her usual use to and from her bedroom, bathroom and family room recliner. However, when she wants to walk for exercise (which lasts 2-3 minutes before being too tired), I will do that for her so she can go, rest, go, rest, then go to her recliner or bed - be aware if your loved one does this, they will be insanely worn out because they walked to their limits, so be prepared. Additionally, the side outrigger safety wheels do not fit through our doorways so those were never installed. The rear outrigger safety wheels have enough clearance for hallway turns for me, but with my mom's reduced mobility, she would get stuck in the turns, so I rotated those rear wheels back in. I have her put her chest against the front padded rail because we take off the rear rail (reasons mentioned further above) and her using this walker to get around has been wonderful. I've tweaked the custom sizing after assembly, but I've left it about an inch lower so if she wants/can stand within without supporting herself, she can have that option. On a scale of one to ten, this is an ELEVEN!! WE LOVE THIS!!Do not think you can just buy and ship this to your loved one. Someone with strength and vision is needed to put this together. Assembly isn't bad, but there are a lot of parts, and assembly isn't for the average geriatric person who would be using it.In case Amazon combines my review with another product, here is our walker's description:Adult Standing Walker for Seniors, Hemiplegia Rehabilitation hemi Walker Lower Limb Training, Upgraded Double Pads, 8 Wheels Anti-tilt, Suitable for People 58-71in, withstands 220lbsI hope this review helps someone else.

Amazing piece of equipment for hemiplegic stroke patient!
My mother had a stroke a month ago and lost the use of her right side. She has been working with PT to walk again using a hemiwalker. She was so afraid of falling, she was unable to do her PT and she cried and sobbed in fear. I got this for her and she feels so comfortable using it. She is upright and safely supported and is "walking" daily now. We always have one person next to her and one behind her with a wheel chair just in case...but this has been a game changer for her. The PT people were so impressed with the device and had never used one before. They love it and we will probably donate it to them once she graduates to an upright walker.

Not suitable for the purpose, cannot recommend
Not suitable for the purpose, cannot recommendWe tried this with a relative having balance and strength issues, exactly what this frame is for. We found the frame design to be hazardous. I do not suggest this frame design to anyone, from any source. The person was fitted with a gait belt for additional safety and was attended by two experienced aides. This saved the person several times because the frame and harness did not support securely. The padding on the harness is hard as wood, it prevents the harness from wrapping securely. Several times when the person tried to relax into the harness, they started to slip out of it and slip out backwards from the frame. It is unsafe. The harness is too small to wrap around a waist, it is too short to reach the waist and sort of hangs down just above the knees. The saddle seat is not at all for a disabled person because they need very precise control to sit down on it. They will fall out if they cannot sit straight down with good balance. It does not help with walking; the frame is too short front-to-back and the front crossbar does not allow you to take a full step forward, only shuffle. It does not help with posture. The padding is so thick on the saddle seat and harness, you can only stand bowlegged. The frame does not help with standing: if you cannot already stand absolutely upright, the system has no way to prevent you from sliding out backwards.
