Excellent, affordable, easy-to-install security cameras.BEFORE YOU BUY, ask yourself these questions:Do I have crappy wifi?Do I know how to read instructions?Do I have a ton of devices already on my wifi?Do I live in a highly populated area?Do I plan on placing my cameras far away from my router with a bunch of interference in between? (Bluetooth devices, microwave, metal doors/objects).Most of the issues these negative reviewers are running into are user error. One guy complained about night vision being too sensitive on his cameras.....you can literally adjust the night vision sensitivity of each individual camera from the app. As far as setting them up, many struggle with the QR code scanning when connecting each camera to your wifi....if you read the instructions, it clearly says to plug in your camera NEAR your wifi router during setup. It takes a couple seconds for it to scan in a camera for me. As far as issues with cameras going offline or not holding a connection, these cameras are limited on their range, but that is also greatly dependent on how you place them in your house. Is your wifi router positioned in a central location in your house? Do you have a bunch of interference like bluetooth devices, microwave, fridge, metal walls/doors and other electronics in between your router and cameras? Does your wifi suck? You may need to upgrade your wifi or take into consideration that these cameras operate on 2.4Ghz which yes is a major con, because 2.4 is slower than 5G and tends to get overcrowded by neighbors especially in higher populated areas. Other than occassional signal issues with my camera I have outside, all my indoor cameras work flawlessly and pickup motion very well.Pros:1. Affordable upfront cost2. DIY install3. Great quality for price4. Liveview and motion detection5. Customizable settings and appCons:1. Expensive when paying monthly for individual camera cloud storage2. Limited wifi range and 2.4Ghz only3. Wifi setup is very finicky4. Nightvision is good in totally dark environment, but is finicky when there are light and dark spots in its view. Good news is the night vision sensitivity is customizable and you can adjust your house lighting accordingly to tailor to your camera.

I normally don’t leave reviews but felt like I needed to for these awesome cameras in case someone is trying to decide whether to purchase or not and still “kinda on the fence” about it as they say lol.Just buy them. You won’t be disappointed.I had to have some good quality cameras quickly…my husband had a massive stroke and was in a coma which meant I was constantly at the hospital so I needed a way to keep an eye on things at home… I looked at several and decided on these for a couple reasons…I got four for around $110 (with coupon), very affordable and gave me good coverage around our property to see pretty much everything, super easy set up and install, wireless…just put in your wifi password and good to go.The daytime mode is super bright and clear and full color just like if you were there looking at it with your own eyes…and the night vision is absolutely fantastic as well! I was pleasantly surprised how clear it is! It is black and white but that’s ok bc it is crisp and sharp, not grainy at all!You even get a free 30 day trial of their continuous recording feature that backs up to the cloud. You have the option to purchase on monthly or yearly basis for individual or all cameras but don’t have to if you don’t want to. You will still be alerted to all motion alerts and have access to live streaming free at no cost on the basic plan. It really doesn’t get any better! I am super happy with my Zmodo cameras :).Also, in case anyone was wondering it’s been a few weeks now and my husband just went to rehab! I’m so excited! The drs say he is a miracle…that he shouldn’t even have survived let alone be talking, remembering and able to go to rehab…he def had someone watching over him!But buy the cameras, they are awesome!!

I have several short term rental properties and have these along with other brands on all the exterior of the properties. This was the first brand and style camera I ever bought about 6 or so years ago and I have 12 of them total now. I have The other brands also and paid $1000 for a security camera system with its own recording unit only to have them go down or break to the point I don’t even use it anymore and I just bought 2 more Of these basic zmodo cameras. This basic camera is my ultimate favorite and the most reliable of them all and yet the most inexpensive by far. It doesn’t move Or zoom or anything but that is what makes it dependable I think. MThese are great cameras for the money and are pretty easy to set up. Any issues I have always fixed via troubleshooting and google searching. They now even offer (they didn’t when I first started using this brand) Cloud Recording coverage is more affordable than some of the other brands and I have 3 cameras set up to record continuous 30 days, 3 record continuous 7 days and the rest record motion only. The motion alerts can get annoying if you don’t spend the time to set up each camera’s alert area and sensitivity. They keep updating and improving their App and now it alerts you if it sees a Car, People or Pets pretty accurately and the newer models have a way better pixel than the older models (I have both). The ones I bought years ago are still working except the night vision is starting to fail on a few but considering they were around if not less than $30 each and are all outside being exposed to weather and getting baked in the summer heat (getting so hot from the Phoenix heat you can’t touch them). I am amazed they are still going at all. Cloud subscription is optional and they give you 30 day trial for free. You can just have it send you alerts only and have live view if you want and don’t need to pay for subscription but I love the subscription and playback for the few dollars a month per camera. Also works great with Amazon Alexa Show and I just ask Alexa to show me a camera and it shows right up. They are easy to set up that way also where I have other cameras that were a real pain or don’t have true comparability with Alexa and I always forget what “skill” name I need to say. So for the money and value these are great and I just added a couple more.
