🌊 A Beautiful Goodbye, Naturally.
The Ocean Blue Seashell Biodegradable Urn is a large, eco-friendly urn designed for water burials. Made in the USA from clay and cotton, it floats for 1-5 minutes before sinking and breaking down naturally. With a capacity of 200 cubic inches, it can hold the ashes of individuals weighing up to 200 pounds. This urn is perfect for scattering ashes in a dignified manner while being kind to the environment.

Perfect product perfect experience
We bought a different brand first, and it was absolutely huge and required. Glue of some sort to make sure didn’t fall apart. This one was more like a box for clothing, lightweight, and with tape that sealed everything. It came with a certification of being biodegradable Which the private sailing tour appreciated. Floated for about 45 seconds, before sinking rather quickly. Overall, it was a really classy and ideal experience. Will attach a photo for reference. I wouldn’t say it’s the sturdiest of options, but it’s not like you wouldn’t be careful with a box of a loved one’s ashes anyway.

Beautiful
A beautiful container for a memorial at sea. Ours floated for at least a couple of minutes if not longer. I do wish the assembly instructions had been more detailed as I found the process of putting it all together and gluing it shut properly to be stressful especially given the emotional nature of the process. Try to spread the cremains in their biodegradable bag evenly around the bottom bowl of the container. I worried at first that they wouldn't all fit but they easily did. Definitely heed the instructions to use all the glue and clips to fasten the lid. Set it up on a box on a table as you work so you can see all of the edges well, and try to have a helper if possible. I used 4-5 clothespins in addition to the clips provided as it seemed there might be gaps otherwise. My guess was that gaps would lead to leakage and quicker sinking. Also be aware that the edges become fragile as they get moist with glue so try to work relatively quickly as you wipe off excess glue. I allowed two days for it to dry but one full day probably would've been enough. Because of the type of boat and the conditions we had to sort of drop ours from a foot or so above into the bay but it landed flat and upright and floated away beautifully. We had a lightweight biodegradable floral wreath placed around it that also floated and made for nice effect.

Just as beautiful in person!
I'm so pleased with this urn. I ordered the orchid design and decided to place the order well in advance just incase it was damaged during delivery or it didn't look like the pictures. When it arrived it was filled with a ton of packing bubbles and the colors were just as vibrant as the picture was. I would highly reccomend this product to anyone.

Worked for our plans
This was used for an at sea memorial for our son. A cousin painted the urn, as seen in the photo, as it needed more color and I felt this helped in honoring him. The ocean conditions were rough, and the float time was minimal, but worked exactly as expected.

Product is very pretty. When it was placed in the water within seconds, it went under.

Quality product in fit and finish, quick delivery
My wife and I have both purchased urns, with the hope of not needing them for some time. We've decided to complete our funeral arrangements after the sudden and shocking death of a dear friend. We purchased from different vendors: she through one vendor, I through Amazon. In all respects I am far more pleased with this product than my wife's. This urn comes in a fairly large box and has plenty of packing material around it. The urn itself is more refined looking, and features a double closure method: glue followed by clips. In contrast, my wife's urn came loosely packed with Styrofoam peanuts, top and bottom are tied together with a thong. I can't say how this urn will perform, but I can say it it appears good in fit and finish. The urn arrived quickly (that may be a concern for some) and was over $100 less than my wife's choice. Altogether I'm pleased. Now, on to living!

Burial at sea
We used this product to bury my wife’s ashes at sea, and it performed as promised. The disk is about 18” in diameter and about 8” in depth, which was more than adequate to hold all of her ashes. The shell is made of a compressed paper mache material, with a beautiful design on top. It floated for about 5 minutes and prevented the potential for ashes to be blown by a sea breeze on spectators. Well worth it.

Too small!! Dimensions not as specified.
**UPDATE - The size is not as described. Discussed this misrepresentation with Amazon Customer Service who assured me something would be done to this ad - it is still the same. Nothing has been done! A shame that others may go through this miserable experience. Also have not received an apology or refund from the seller*****This URN was NOT big enough. It claims to hold 220lbs person. The ashes were of a 150 pound person. This is an already difficult time and to have to deal with this is not good. I now have to purchase second urn from the funeral home. Terrible. A rip off.
