Mary Shelley's 1831 revision includes her introduction to the origin and philosophy of her creation. 220 pages. English novelist Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley (1797-1851) wrote Frankenstein during a summer spent near Lake Geneva, Switzerland, with her betrothed, Percy Bysshe Shelley, her stepsister Claire Clairmont, poet George Gordon Byron, and Lord Byron's physician, John William Polidari. Inclement weather kept the group indoors and they challenged one another to create fantastic tales. Shelley's was the result of a haunting vision: ''I saw the pale student of unhallowed arts kneeling beside the thing he had put together.'' Beautiful edition and delivered sealed.
Beautifully bound edition with gilt edging. Came sealed, which I was delighted about because several other special edition books I bought haven't, and some of them had damage to the binding and pages. I'll definitely be looking for more Peter Pauper Press editions of my favourite books.

Halbleinen, Goldprägung, Goldschnitt an allen drei Seiten.

Beautiful
The book is bound beautifully with larger than expected pages. Obviously the story itself is great and it is the 1831 version. The book has been read through a couple times and no issues with the binding or pages themselves!
