Mezzetta Mediterranean Peperoncini Hot Sauce

I came across this hot sauce at a taco truck in Humboldt County about 10 years ago. It’s been my favorite ever since . Great flavor and always consistent, top notch quality . And not too terribly spicy . They did this hot sauce right . “Gringo safe “ if ya know what I mean . Highly recommended .

So delicious - on pizza, subs, sandwiches, salads. Tangy, slightly spicy, well-balanced and lovely flavor.

Was at a family gathering where they made tacos and had this sauce on hand. Best hot sauce I've ever had, tastes great in just about anything.

I was browsing on here looking at some hot sauces and this trio popped up. I bought it and tried them all. I did not expect one of them to be sweet! It was nasty. But the green Pepperoncini one is really good on sandwiches! And the "hot" one is pretty good, just not very hot at all. So overall it was a ok purchase.

As someone that loves peperonchinis with pizza, I knew I would love this. It tastes just like blended peppers in the best way possible. The heat is perfect in my opinion, hot but doesn't take away from the actual flavor of the food.

Best hot sauce ever, most stores, sold it, but not anymore.

I used to have dozens of bottles of hot sauce. Different brands, different varieties and they all had one thing in common. Heat. Habanero, scotch bonnet, jalapeño, cayenne, etc... they all added a bite to the food to which they were added by not much to offer in flavor, apart from vinegar. I like everything I have ever tried from Mezetta and usually keep a couple of jars of their garlic stuffed olives on hand. When I stumbled across an ad for their peperoncini hot sauce I had to try it. So I ordered the sampler pack and waited anxiously for my new adventure. When the product was delivered the box gave little indication of the joy contained within. I carefully cut the tape and opened the flaps and it was as if the clouds had parted. I knew things were going to work out fine. The bottles are your typical small hot sauce bottles with attractive labeling, as shown in the pictures, with a simple screw on cap suitable for drizzling onto whatever victuals were in place. I expected them to have the little plastic metering topper under the cap that requires shaking or tapping the bottle to make the sauce shoot out at high velocity but was pleasantly surprised to find no such mechanism. It required little effort on my part to learn how to tip the bottles to get just the right amount on liquid to dispense onto my chosen fare. First, I tried the peperoncini sauce. It is pretty mild, so if you are looking for something to make you sweat and your eyes to water you are out of luck. But the flavor was fantastic. Bright and tangy, just like the bright yellow peppers from a take out pizza, it was better than I had hoped for. It's a clear favorite in my kitchen stable of flavor enhancers. The roasted red pepper sauce was next. With a level of heat similar to the aforementioned peperoncini sauce, it has a richer flavor that also ranks high on my list. The Calabrian sauce packs a little more punch though. Still bursting with flavor, it leaves a little bit of peppery finish the others lack. Though I prefer the other two, this one is still a delicious accoutrement to dinner. Only available online at this time I'm hopeful they will expand their network to offer these in stores and, even better, in larger bottles.
