Not really suited for dachshunds
Although this is an expensive product, after reading the reviews, I thought I'd go for it.I already had a (fairly decent) dirt cheap cooling coat, but I needed something that wouldn't dry out after half an hour as it's primary use would be for dog shows, and I don't want to have to be constantly re-wetting it.Length and around the chest seemed to fit, but around the armpits and neck there was just too much room and my dachshund's little legs kept stepping out of it and she'd end up wearing it like a skirt. Found a seamstress who sorted that though, so no more issues there.Definitely works at keeping dogs cool, and my girl seems really quite happy and comfy with it on. Keeps cooling for hours, whether its a case of lounging at home or going out for a 5 hour hike.Problem is, I don't think I'll be able to use it for the primary purpose I bought it for as it does leave the fur slightly damp, even when the coat barely feels wet.Overall, definitely a good buy, stays cool, does what's written. Not really designed for short legged breeds. Would like it if it didn't soggy the dog underneath, but comfort is most important. Will have to keep looking for one for using at shows, but this is great for all other purposes!(Photos are before alterations were made)

It’s heavy and like a jacket.
Thinner cheaper items are working better. Be very clear before you buy ruff wear cooling coats. Some are to be used in shade and some in direct sunlight. Very dangerous if you ask me as most laypeople won’t go through al the products on there website to figure out their use. They are a premium product company and in my view some of their stuff is great, but you really need to look at what they designed any product of theirs that you are choosing, including their harnesses etc

Absolutely a hit with our spaniel
We bought this cooling jacket for our 2 year old Cavalier King Charles spaniel in the middle of the recent June hot weather. It was a gamble as it was so much more expensive than other coats but I can honestly say it has saved our lively boy from overheating and it stayed cool for more than an hour. If your dog isn’t used to coats it may be a problem as it is heavy after soaking in cold water. Although Benji is only a small dog he is very active as we live on the coast so we bought the medium size, the chest plate was too baggy so a neighbour with a sewing machine took it in, an adjuster there would be useful. I particularly chose one with snap fasteners as zips tend to break quite soon and Velcro is always hard to put on underneath with a long haired dog. Worth every penny and glad we found it.

Game changer in hot weather for our older pointer
Our GSP of 11 years is recovering from spinal surgery following a recent attack by Irish Wolf Hounds. We noticed he was struggling in the warmer weather when I came across these cooling jackets. Simply doused with cold water the cooling effect was remarkable. We were able to walk him in warmer weather when he would normally be struggling. I don't know exactly how it works but placing a hand within the chest part of the vest reveals an amazing chill effect. The vest slips on and off easily, packs easily on a backpack and can be charged with water easily from a water bottle of simply dunking it in a nearby stream. Highly recommended and definitely worth the money.

It fits and it works
This is the fifth cooling coat I've bought for my dog, a small border terrier. The other four either didn't fit her or didn't work. This coat fits her perfectly - probably because the measurement taken is round the chest, not the length of her back. It's also very effective at cooling her down - she stops panting within seconds of me putting it on her. The smaller sizes are more expensive, but have the advantage of buckles which are easy to click in and have adjustable straps. Some customers have commented that the light colour of the coat shows the dirt - which is true. However the light colour also reflects sunlight making the coat more effective.

This cool jacket gets all slight pulls on the material
I brought this cool jacket for my boxer dog obviously to keep him cool in the high climate we are having at the minute.Only wore this jacket at home not out at all. There seems to be slight fine pulls on the material after a weeks wear Not good to say I paid £ 69.00 for it.The colour is very light and gets dirty quickly.Would not recommend this for a boxer The jacket did do the job tho but looks like it had it months So I wonder how long it is going to last my dog😩😩😩

OK - not sure if it actually helps.
Bought for two different sized dogs (XS and L). Run large so a bit baggy, I'd recommend sizing down if they are on the cusp of two sizes. Fit is OK otherwise and gives freedom of movement. I couldn't decide if they helped keep them cool any better if I am totally honest - probably work better in dry heat (which the UK rarely is). Expensive for what it is.

Expensive - but it works very well
We have a small/medium black dog that gets really hot on very warm days in the sun. We went to Cornwall during the recent heatwave and knew walking around could be an issue. So bought this because we have a Ruffwear harness and the lead attachment point lines-up with the vent on the vest. The vest worked well, but during some really hot days, we ended-up buying bottles of water or finding shops or pubs for a large glass of water to the keep the vest wet. Other dogs were panting heavily, meanwhile our dog was cool and happy. Putting a hand under the vest, her fur was cool without being wet or damp, so highly recommended. The downside, it is very expensive for what it is.One other point, we wanted a vest that was also light in colour to help reflect the sun's heat which added to us choosing this vest.
