A Necessity for home-made dog food
We make our own dog food & Solgar is the only brand of Bone Meal I will put into the food. It is high quality & made for human consumption so I know it's safe for my dog. Plus it has a few added minerals/vitamins that are also necessary when making dog food at home. My dog was sick when we got her, kept getting sick on store food but when we started making food with the Solgar Bone Meal added, she stopped getting sick, added weight, has a shiny coat & my vet says she's never looked better. She's been eating home-made food for 2 years now & the Solgar Bone Meal keeps her bones nice & strong.

Good product!
This product was recommended by my dog's nutritionist to fulfill her calcium requirement, necessary due to the homemade diet that she is on. I trust his expertise on the product and have had no problems having my dog take the powder down just by mixing it with her meals. It does not seem to have any smell or bad taste to it. She is a small dog and the size of this product will last us a very long time.

Bone Meal Review
I have been using Solgar products for years. They are always good quality and priced fairly. The bone meal powder is used in my protein drinks. It mixes well. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Our dog likes it!
We give this to our dog as part of a special diet: bone meal, salmon oil, and calm magnesium on top of brown rice, broccoli, ground turkey, and kibble. It's a little high maintenance but it keep her healthy and her coat super shiny.

U.S.A. made !!! Pork bones- eh?
I am looking for human grade ground bones {preferably cattle best?} made in U.S.A. and if most hopefully organic. The label said N.J. address but not much else so I went to the Solgar website, still no further info but a customer inquiry toll free number. I called and asked what kind of bones is it made from? She said the computer was slow so while waiting she mentioned it was in the form of tri-calcium phosphate...which I said what kind of bones? That led to a misunderstanding, and I hung up. So to be fair, she returned my call quickly I guess when the info came up. She said from porcine bones (pork) and vit B 12 only, also not organic or the label would say so. I feel the label is deceptive due to omission of info- pork bones. I applaud that Solgar is made in USA and the toll free customer inquiry #. I am not an expert on bone meal but I do have an aversion to pork bones. SAME DAY RE-EDIT - I want to further explain my issue. I am a 56 yr old white women with the beginning of brittle bones - osteo parisis (spelling?) partly due to medication side effects and just probably because I'm a smaller boned white woman. I ended up here because in looking NOW brand bone meal powder was no longer made in USA,(and possible change of ingrediants). There is no way I am buying foreign made bone meal powder from an unspecified country. Some older multi packs were still from USA but I couldn't find it. I need to do more research on this cattle bone vs. pig bone vs. any other kind of bones. But I do know bone meal is a good source of calcium for women.. I as an American woman need a quality bone meal for MY BONES (not for a dog or cat). I believe bone meal is better for absorption than the other forms of calcium. Just for gen info, I am intending to mix it with a little honey to be taken evenings (best-night time) about 1/2 tsp, 3 times a week and to use kelp powder as an additional iodine source synergistically.
